What is the Strawberry Half Marathon?

Launched in 2010, The Enniscorthy Strawberry Festival Half Marathon enjoyedunanticipated success. With great feedback from those who took part as well as from local Enniscorthy businesses, the decision was made to make the marathon an annual event.

This year’s Strawberry Half Marathon takes place on Sunday, 26th June, includes a shorter 5 mile road race and a 15K walk as well as a ‘Kiddies Mini Olympics’. In all, this year’s event has something for everyone!

The Marathon is perfectly timed with the famous Strawberry Festival whichattracts visitors in their thousands to the area. This year’s festival has a top class line up of events. Further details on the Festival can be found at www.strawberryfest.ie

Why Partner?In 2010, the number of visitors generated on the race weekend was in theregion of 2,000 between runners, supporters and onlookers. This is now a proven event attracting runners and visitors from all around the country.

Based on the success of last year’s event the race has the enthusiastic backing and support of Enniscorthy Town Council.

Two very deserving charities, Barretstown Castle and Fighting Blindness, are associated with the event.

Reaction to the 2010 Strawberry Half Marathon was really positive with anaverage rating of 90% on online boards.



What We Can Offer You?Our database of over • 600 runners will get regular newsletters between now and the race which will highlight your sponsorship.

Your company name will be listed on the sponsors page of our website •www.strawberryhalfmarathon.com with a live link to your website.

Sponsors will be afforded a presence at race registration on Friday evening, •Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning and at the race start/finish area, along the race route and at prize giving.

Sponsors may include advertising / promotional material in each runner’s •race pack. 1000 race packs are being produced.

Sponsors will get regular mention on our Facebook page which is being •marketed by a Dublin based PR & Digital Marketing Agency and will have a significantly increased following over the next three / four weeks.

Sponsors will be mentioned in news item about the race on the Run Ireland •website www.runireland.ie

Company name on race T-shirt (if secured before 11/12th May)•

How You Can Sponsor The Event Sponsorship of the water for the •event: 3,000 x 250ml bottles and 1,000 by 500ml bottles.

Sponsorship of prizes to the First •Male (€500), First Female (€500).

Sponsorship of the course record •bonuses, Male (€200) and Female (€200)

Sponsorship of items for runners’ •race packs: T-Shirts, medals or other suitable items.



Why Was 2010 So Great?Top class organisation•

Great atmosphere with music at the start/finish and the locals were out all •along the route to cheer the runners on their way.

Water supplied along the route was in bottles and there was plenty of it.•

The course was very scenic – a sure factor in attracting high •participation levels.

Refreshments afterwards in the Riverside Park Hotel which is adjacent to •the finish.

Thanks for organising the event, I thought you guys did a great job. I particularly thought the inclusion of pacers was very useful for the likes of myself a relative new

comer to running and thought the team on the two hour mark were very helpful along the journey, as were all the stewards and other volunteers. I especially like

the community spirit with all those, who were no doubt, inconvenienced by the race, coming out to support the runners and walkers along the route. I heard you both

had made a special effort to get them involved, so well done it was appreciated by us out on the course.

The water stations were great, especially the bottles. The additional water stations and friendly support from local residents were very welcome as well. I compliment

the 2:00 pace-maker who was encouraging and positive. Although I didn’t finish inside 2:00 myself having the pacemaker did help me improve my time on

previous races.
