Stowage Assistant Manager (SAM) is an advanced slot planning module that takes a wide range of modern stowage principles into account when auto-stowing containers into allocated bay sections.

The SAM approach simplifies the planning process by reducing the tediousness of manually working box by box to working with blocks. This is done by using simple drawing areas or one-click selection of whole under deck / on deck sections along the vessel for different ports of discharge (POD). Drawing on best practices and considering various rules and settings, the SAM module considers the actual stowage of the defined areas and partitions made by the user.

SAM changes the usual way of stowage. The module ensures space optimization under deck by understanding the perfect high cube / standard container (HC/DC) mix, knowing the permissible stack weight and applying an intelligent weight and loading pattern. For the on-deck stowage, SAM considers given settings such as lashing, stack weight reduction and loading height applied by the user, but still using an intelligent weight and loading pattern. This enables the user to quickly and easily create a stowage plan and/or run various scenarios in the same amount of time. It can be used for the current POD as well as for an evaluation of the round-trip to achieve the KPI required by the company‘s management.
