Stone Cladding

Installation Methods

Mechanical Fixing Methods- 1- The stone is fixed to the backup wall using mechanical anchors.

2- Wet (Reinforce Concrete) Methods - The stone is fixed to the backup wall using a system of concrete and

steel (Reinforce Concrete).

3- Gluing / Thin Set Methods- The stone is Glued directly to the backup wall (Interior walls only).

1- Mechanical Fixing Methods

The stone is fixed to the backup wall ( Concrete or steel beams) using steel anchors that restrain

vertical and horizontal movement of the stone.

At most cases the stone is distant from the backup wall so an air cavity is created between the stone

and the backup wall. That air cavity enables better building ventilation and thermal & acoustic insula-

tion.

Anchor Type #5

Name: Mortar setting with securing ties

Stone thickness: 4cm and up

Type of Ties– wall ties, weir or strap

Adjustability : Medium

Wet (Reinforce Concrete) Methods

The stone is fixed to the backup wall using a system of concrete and steel (Reinforce Concrete).

Methods: Arab Method

Description: the first raw of bottom stones is supported by a concrete or steel ledge. The upper

rows are built on the first raw. Each stone is tied to a metal wire mesh that is fixed to the backup

all with screws. After securing the stones, a concrete is poured to the gap between the stone

rows and the backup wall crating a reinforced concrete.

Stone Thickness: 4cm and up

Stone dimensions : 30cm height X free length

Wet (Reinforce Concrete)
