Primary school... In primary school we did

heaps of visual artworks, textiles, egg painting, drama and music performances including a school play. Primary school was riddled with various art related activities and events.

Music... In my primary school years I learnt

the keyboard/piano, the recorder and also sang in the school choir. I also performed in front of a big crowd at my local ‘Apple festival’ run by the school and community. In yr 7 and 8 I was involved in school plays again, including “Little shop of horrors”. I also began doing clarinet. As part of my schooling I was also expected to learn basic drums, a guitar chord and other various instruments.

Visual arts... My family background is very complex.. I

have many different cultures behind me from Irish, Scottish, Chinese, Aboriginal and more.. However I have always been very interested in Aboriginal art. I have done a few drawings and paintings for example:

Art in University... Whilst completing this course, I have been

shown so much and have learnt tremendous amounts of information about engaging the students, making puppets, using everyday items such as newspaper to create anything from musical instruments to hats and costumes. And that is only to name a few.

The list is endless when it comes to creativity and teaching art in schools.

Influences... My mum has always been very creative and

supportive especially when it came to art. She used to do sketches and drawings all the

time, and she used to give me all sorts of things from beads to baking me play dough.

She also was very creative with her sewing making us book bags, toy holders and heaps of nifty little things.

My grandma also used to come and babysit us and we used to decorate cards and make paper Mache piggy banks and animals.
