FLEXIBLEPOLYESTER POLYOLS FOR FLEXIBLE SLABSTOCK POLYURETHANE FOAMExperience the performance advantages of finer cells.

FURNITURE & BEDDING

The addition of STEPANPOL® polyester polyols enhances mechanical properties resulting in higher quality foams, less scrap, and easier fabrication. This allows for the manufacture of more durable furniture, and in turn, more satisfied customers.

FILTRATION

The small, regular foam cells produced by using STEPANPOL® adipate polyols can filter air, fluids, and particulates in consumer, medical, and industrial applications.

AUTOMOTIVE FOAMS

Our patented chemistry increases the bonding strength of foam to textile and nonwoven fabrics. The increased adhesion enables better shaping and provides the cushioning, vibration and sound reduction properties essential for automotive headliners.

Typical End Uses Stepan supplies both aromatic and aliphatic polyester polyols for use in flexible slabstock polyurethane foam applications. STEPANPOL® aromatic polyester polyols improve flame lamination bond strength and increase mechanical properties in polyether foams. Our aliphatic polyester polyol product line contains branched adipate polyols designed for specialty polyester foams.

RIGID

Typical End Uses Stepan is the global leader in the production and sale of aromatic polyester polyols for use in rigid polyisocyanurate and polyurethane foams. The largest end use for Stepan rigid aromatic polyester polyols is in applications where insulation, flammability, and structural performance are most important. These polyols contain innovative Stepan technology that improves foam processing and insulating performance to create value in end use applications. Stepan’s aromatic polyester polyol business uses a vertical integration model, world-class manufacturing and a global supply chain to deliver quality and reliability.

POLYESTER POLYOLS FOR RIGID POLYISOCYANURATE (PIR) AND POLYURETHANE (PUR) FOAM. Increasing energy efficiency through improved insulation

SPRAY INSULATION

Stepan’s unique chemistry leads to superior insulation and flammability resistance, critical requirements in the construction industry. Spray formulations containing STEPANPOL® polyols are also easier to process due to low polyol viscosity and improved blowing agent solubility.

BOARDSTOCK INSULATION

PIR foams made with STEPANPOL® polyester polyol deliver superior insulating performance, applied economics and reliability. This results from the combination of our proprietary technology, application expertise, and world-class manufacturing practices.

APPLIANCE INSULATION

STEPANPOL® polyols produce PUR foams with finer cell structures and improved flow. This enables manufacturers to increase insulating value while reducing cost.
