兰加拉学院的英语作为第二语言(简

称ESL)课程采用综合式语言学习法。

我们采用全方位教学模式，而非单纯

的传授技能。我们结合语言的听、说、

读、写技巧，着重教授各种与实际生

活相关的有趣主题。我们设计的课程

以内容为主，引导学生参与多项活动，

让他们应用各种能增进实际沟通的技

巧和策略。 我们以此创造了一个充满

活力、以学生为中心的学习环境，让学

生以自然而有意义的方式获得语言能

力。学生便能渐渐地使用和加拿大以

英语为母语的学生相同的方式来学习

兰加拉学院学术英语课程（简称LEAP）英语技巧能力提升课程（简称STEP）

兰加拉学院学术英语课程（简称LEAP）是兰加拉学院的密集式进阶英语语言课程，其设计旨在帮助母语非英语的加拿大或国际学生，为就读英语授课的全日制大专院校作好准备。LEAP课程的内容取材自许多不同学科。在本课程任何一级别的教学之中，都重点培训学术技能。学生的批判性思考能力及学术策略运用会通过就读这课程而进步。每期课程为期7周，每年有6期课程。学生每周的课堂学习为20个小时，而且每周需完成约20小时的家庭作业。LEAP课程提供从中级到高级的6个等级。平均每班有16名学生。若要进入LEAP课程学习，报名者必须达到最低的英语语言要求。

LEAP课程通过以下方式鼓励学生融入兰加拉学院的学术和社交圈：

· 提供能让学生在发挥全部潜能的同时感觉到自己是学院一份子并为学院做出贡献的环境

从LEAP成功结业的学生可直接入读大学转学课程。

LEAP的教师均持有ESL教育（TESL）的高级学位。所有教师都经过严格筛选，筛选的标准包括教师在教授学术英语方面的经验、跨文化意识、以及对帮助年轻学生获得学术成功的承诺。大部分教师均有在加拿大以外地区教授ESL课程的经验。

英语技巧能力提升课程（简称STEP）欢迎母语非英语的国际学生以及加拿大学生就读。STEP课程是一个内容精彩的全日制密集式初级英语语言课程，侧重温哥华和加拿大的环境与文化。

STEP课程是专为提高学生口语、听力、阅读和写作技巧而设置的。丰富多元的课题教材以及活动创造学生实用的语言环境。在练习英语能力的同时，学生们也增进了对温哥华，加拿大以及世界各国的了解。每期课程为期7周，每年有6期课程。学生们必须每周在教室学习20小时，并要完成每周10小时的家庭作业。STEP分为三个等级。平均每个班级有14个学生。

STEP帮助学生：

· 提高英语水平

· 在课内课外的互动活动中能够自然地使用英语进行交流

· 通过学习与加拿大社会相关课题来进一步了解加拿大的文化

· 进阶到兰加拉学院的LEAP与其他学术课程 STEP课程的教师均持有ESL教育(TESL)的高级学位，并有多年从教经验。大部分教师均有在加拿大以外地区教授ESL课程的经验。所有教师都经过严格筛选，筛选的标准包括教师在教授学术英语方面的经验、跨文化意识、以及对帮助年轻学生获得学术成功的承诺。

如何申请

• 155加元申请费 （请用现金、加拿大境内银行账户的 支票、VISA或万事达信用卡支付）

• 英语语言测试成绩单复印件 （仅在申请LEAP时需要）• 请不要使用银行汇票、本票、美国运通信用卡或非加拿大境内银行

账户的支票进行支付。

家庭寄宿

建议学生参加本地家庭寄宿计划 (包括每日三餐及有床和书桌的单人房) 。 有关本地家庭寄宿的申请费及程序， 请浏览本校国际教育网站或者发邮件到 homestay@langara.bc.ca查询。
