Through news articles, students will examine modern, global issues that have polarizing views

in effort to stimulate interactive conversation and opinion forming. Done in a safe environment

with respect to each others’ beliefs at individual and cultural levels, students will practice

articulating themselves clearly and respectfully in regards to various topics covered in class, and

gain awareness of how to tailor responses to audiences that may not share their views. Through

individual and group activities, learners will enhance their English conversation skills by
