INTRODUCTION

A settlement is where people live !

They are all different shapes and sizes;-

Read textbook page 10.

Make the heading as in the book. Copy the diagram figure 2.1, with the arrows and labels.

Answer the questions on the next slide- in sentences.

Where do settlements begin?

The land a settlement is built on is called its SITE.

It was probably begun a long time back in history when life was much more difficult and dangerous.

Use the textbook again- same page. Write down the five main important factors in siting a settlement back then, and use the pictures and text on the next slide to explain the reasons.
