Im very happy for the given opportunity to study in a College which is committed to provide students with every opportunity to achieve their full potential professionally, intellectually and socially.

    Success Story - Ariana Selmani

Ariana Selmani was born in 1975 in Mitrovica where she completed her compulsory education. Ariana enrolled at Prishtina University in 1993-94 to study in the Faculty of Economics but due to circumstances within the national education sector in Kosovo during the 1990s she took a break from studying. During this time she gained experience in the business sector, at first by working with her father in a family business until 1999.

Post-war, Ariana started her own business venture with her husband setting up Insu-trade LLC. Ariana held the position of Sales Manager, also taking responsibility for administration and accounting. Years later, after developing as a business person, she enrolled on a higher educa-tion course offered in partnership with Staffordshire University at Riin-vest College, BA(Hons) Business Management and Entrepreneurship.Ariana says Im very happy that I was given the opportunity to study at Riinvest on a Staffordshire University award where the college and university are committed to provide students with every opportunity to achieve their full potential professionally, intellectually and social-ly. Staffordshire University offers a different system of studying, with a truly unique experience, whilst combining lectures with case studies allowing students to understand a module in a practical way. A special motivation for me was that I was able to remain studying in Kosovo, close to my family, but to be offered the chance to achieve a recognised British qualification.

As a wife and mother of three children Ariana was able to run her busi-ness requiring 24/7 commitment, but found time to participate in the regular lectures. To tell you frankly, I didnt know what to expect at

  • the beginning of this journey. It was full of sacrifices, family duties and professional commitments but I was aiming to enrich my knowl-edge, and I see the value of this every single day states Ariana.Nevertheless, by the end of her studies in 2014, she was awarded the title of Best student of the generation 2013/14 and Ariana reports that she felt honoured that the academic staff felt she deserved this award to recognise her success. Ariana says I would like to take this opportunity to thank the elite academic staff, and express my gratitude for their commitment, contributions and care-ful work done during my three years.

Today, Ariana stands proudly and thanks everyone who helped and supported her throughout this journey. Without support I would not be the person I am today, but love, kindness and the encour-agement of my family are the reasons that keep me strong, fill me with confidence and make me go further. Currently she is follow-ing her Masters studies in Netherlands confirming without a doubt that her BA(Hons) degree from Staffordshire University equipped her with a firm foundation to progress her studies at a higher inter-national level.

Arianas motto is: Yesterday I was clever so I wanted to change the world. Today I am wise so I am changing myself

Without support I would not be the person I am today, but love, kindness and encouragement of the family are the reason that make me stay strong, fill me with confidence and make me go further

    FUNDING YOUR STUDY

With a low cost of living and a very competitive fees structure it pays to study at the Department for Staffordshire University Programmes in Prishtina.

The most common way to fund your undergraduate study is with a student loan. This is a loan from the banks that covers your tuition fees. It means you dont have to pay anything to the College up front. And in fact, you dont have to pay anything back until youve graduated. We have such agreements with two well-known banks such as: Raiffeisen Bank and NLB Bank.

Various scholarships are also available for early applicants and for students with an outstanding performance.
