WelcomeWelcome to the Stafford Half Marathon, School and Family Fun Run and the Junior Mile, where this year sees the celebration of the Stafford Half Marathons 25th anniversary.
This handbook has been designed to guide you through the pre race nerves and to ensure that you know everything you need to know about the events, including how to get to the start line, health and safety information and the all important route maps. For all those wacky fun runners out there, dont forget that fancy dress really makes for a colourful event, and on the spot prizes are dished out on the day for the craziest and best costumes!
We would like to thank all of our sponsors and supporters of the events - without them the day would not be possible. Finally, we wish you the best of luck and hope you have an enjoyable day.

Event Day Programme
SpectatorsAn enthusiastic crowd makes all the difference to the runners, so please give your support!
There is plenty of space for spectators in the start/finish area of Staffords Market Square, Stafford Street and town centre where the Signal 1 event stage team will be providing course updates and street entertainers will be entertaining the crowds. Spectators must stay behind the crowd barriers and not attempt to access or cross the course at key times.
Viewing is possible along the whole Half Marathon course, although you are reminded to respect local residents.
NOTE: Please remember to dispose of your litter responsibly.
Certain areas where runners welcome a crowd include the 4 5 mile point at Milford, the disused railway at approx 11 miles and Victoria Park near the start/finish area, please see the course map [page 13] for details.
