Stacey Burrows (Summerlily)

I have had a deep love of dogs all of my life, having grown up with Boxer’s, although my own first dog was a Jack Russell cross who lived to the grand old age of 18. ‘Milo’ used to accompany me to the stables every day and is still missed.I am married with 2 children and work part time as a dog groomer which I am able to do from home. This means I am able to spend a lot of time with my Beagles. The first time I spotted one of these friendly, mad hounds were a pair of ears which kept flapping up and down above a window sill. Those ears became our first Beagle and show dog ‘Summer Lily’ who’s successful show career began in 2006 with many class wins, and culminated in a RBCC and over the years to BVIS! Of course one Beagle is not enough and so Shercroft Pioneer joined the family, a lovely natured dog who I loved showing and who gained many class wins, RCC’s and his Champion title. Another highlight in showing Beagles was when our homebred girl, Summerlily Secret Service, won the RBCC and gained her stud book number at a club show aged just 13 months. Before I began judging ‘proper’ I used to attend Trent Toy and all breeds training class where I eventually became hands on and gained a little insight into many breed standards. I have judged Beagles on several occasions which I have thoroughly enjoyed and am currently on the B and C Beagle Club judges lists. I also served on the Northern & Midland Beagle Club Committee however family commitments at that time forced me to resign.I look forward to working with the current Beagle Club Committee and feel my red belt Karate may come in useful when the judges disagree
