Twenty-Fourth Sunday of Ordinary
Last weekend, the Church celebrated the Sainthood of St Teresa of Calcutta. There was great celebration and rejoicing as Mother Teresa was elevated to Sainthood. This weekend however will feel a little different. Sunday is Sept. 11th This day that resonates in the lives of people, not only in the United States, but throughout the world. How many times on Sunday will we be asked, Where were you on Sept. 11,2001? I know and remember where I was. As I reflect on this day, it is a reminder of how important Life is, how important our faith is? When a disaster occurs, the people of the country came together to pray and rebuild. Let us continue to pray for our world and rebuild the world that have been affected by natural disasters and other caused by human destruction. Let us continue to live out mercy and compassion in our lives.

Diocesan Liturgical Commission Chant Program The DLC will host a class on the chants of the Roman Missal with chant master Dr. Lowell A. Davis. Topics covered will include: - Why sing chant today in the liturgy. - What chant is, and what chant can be sung today by a schola, a congregation, or a cantor. - The spiritual and liturgical role of chant in the Novus Ordo. -Chant as sacred language. -Chant as singing the text of the Liturgy.
