Our annual course of instruction in the Catholic Faith for adults will begin on Tuesday, September 3rd, at 7:00 p.m. in the Parish Center. These hour-long classes will be held
weekly until Easter, and serve as instruction for the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults. Those attending will be presented with a comprehensive view of the Catholic Faith in an informal setting, with ample opportunities for questions and discussion. You are guaranteed to enjoy these sessions, whether you are thinking of joining the Catholic Church, preparing for Confirmation and/or First Holy Communion as an adult, or simply seeking more information about Catholicism. Attendees should be at least 18 years old. There is no need to register—just come to the first session. Questions should be directed to Father Eversole at the Parish Office.

“FEED MY LAMBS… TEND MY SHEEP” (John21:15-16) The following is an accounting from SVdP for July. THANK YOU!
The SVdP Help Line responded to 4 families. They fed 201 families (688 individuals), 8,000 lbs. of food (via the pantry & Enoch Manor). St. Matthew’s parishioners donated $3,000 & 700 lbs.; St. Jude’s - 149 lbs.; St. Patrick’s 770 lbs.; Panera Bread - 252 lbs.; Catholic Charities - 5,175 lbs.; Wegman’s - 878 lbs.; Friends of the Pantry - $2,240; General Donations - $142 ; Food Card Sales Totaled - $350.
The Baby Closet served 67 families (90 children. Diapers were provided by the DC Bank. We are currently collecting coats, hats, gloves and boots for the 3
rd Annual Coat Giveaway for our
clients, scheduled for Oct. 18-20.
Our Good Samaritans are visiting parishioners every week to provide spiritual support and companionship.

RELIGIOUS EDUCATION
Registration for the Religious Education Year for grades K-8 has begun. Our classes
will begin September 10th
& 11th
.
Grades K & 1 will be offered Tuesday from 5:00-6:15 p.m.
Grades 2-4 will be offered on two nights; either Tuesday evening from 5:00-6:15 or Wednesday evening from 6:00-7:15.
Grades 5-8 will be offered Wednesday evening from 6:00-7:15.
New this year is a Pre-K age 4 class on Tuesday from 5:00-6:15 pm. for all children who are 4 years of age by August 31, 2019.
We will also offer a class for those children who need to catch up on their sacraments on Tuesday evenings from 5:00-6:15.
Registration forms are located in the vestibule of the church, parish office or on the church website.
