As part of our design specification we
allowed for the installation of corner
steels on the pantry and entrance
hall area. This was because the high
volume of goods coming in and out of
the kitchen and food trolleys where
causing chips to the old wall and
skirting tiles.
.1 Left: Old wall, skirting, and tiling.
2. Right: Corner steel to protect
plaster, new hard wearing skirting,
flooring and painted walls.

Above and above right (1 & 2), one of our consultants is measuring up for steel paneling on the sides of the kitchen
work tops to hide any unsightly plumbing work and to assist with kitchen cleanliness and hygiene. Above Right (3), the
timber work is being constructed ready for the steel work to be screwed on the worktop.
Right, Steels have been installed onto worktops. Note
the transformation between images 2 & 4.
Far, right, all unsightly pipe work has been boxed in,
we have designed for the steelwork to be screwed, soif any leaks on the plumbing where to occur, the
panels are simply removed for maintenance and/ or
repair. Note the transformation between images 1 &

2. our engineers had to drain down the primary
system, grind off and remove the existing pipe
work and cap- off.
.1 above is the old fan heater; this
was fed by the primary heating
system.3. Infrared heater has been mounted, ready to
be wired.
4 & 5 infrared heaters installed with proper spur
points, wired in to the RCD breaker and encased in
trunking, these are all operated off one switch.
Note the difference between images .1 to .4, we
had allowed for the infrared heaters in threedifferent corners as they are designed to heat up
only the people in the environment not the work
surfaces or the food.

.1, the old sliding shutter doors where a hindrance for staff trying to serve
the children, as they are particularly difficult to open.
3. After the removal of the sliding doors, our engineers can be seen
fabricating the woodwork and removing the pipe work from the wall
mounted heater.
.2, the area is also used for the breakfast club for children early in the
mornings, for this reason we had allowed and designed for new
electric sliding shutter doors and a counter area for the children to
slide their trays/ plates across to be served.
4. the woodwork is being built for the underpinnings of the counter.

5. The timberwork being finalized for the counter, this was to be followed
by fitting the steel panel work and a worktop to slide the trays across and
finishing steel work to finish the top the shutter.
7. Shutter doors halfway through electrical operation
6. The shutter contractors installed the shutters which are electrically
operated off a key switch. Note the difference between image .1to
image .6above.
8. Shutters open, ready in serving position for catering staff.
