Message From Head of the Department

It gives me great pleasure to congratulate students, teachers and staff of Mechanical Engineering Department for bringing out

the tenth volume of the department newsletter, Srujan. Srujan focusses on the inside activities i.e. academics, students and

faculty achievement as well as innovation occurring in the department. In the era of engineering and technology, this newslet-

ter will motivate the teachers and students in sharing their creativity and new ideas with the world and will help in their over-

all development. As the demands of industry and scope of manufacturing is increasing day by day & hence the production has

to increase now the time has come for all Mechanical engineers to come forward, join their hands for more productivity using

Industry 4.0 . Industry 4.0 is a name given to the current trend of automation and data exchange in manufacturing technolo-

gies. It includes cyber-physical systems, the Internet of Things, cloud computing and cognitive computing. Industry 4.0 is

commonly referred to as the fourth industrial revolution I am happy that Srujan will contribute in moving towards this aspect

of future of mechanical engineering.

Robotics and Automation Workshop:

Mechanical Engineering Department has ar-

ranged a Robotics and automation workshop

under the guidance of Prof. J.A. Kute, It is ben-

eficial to students and gives more

knowledge about the sensors, actuators

and all current trend in Automation. Chief

guest of workshop was Mr. Santosh &

Miss. Sakshi From TAL.

ISHRAE Professional Chapter :

Mechanical Engineering Department Has started the

ISHRAE Professional Chapter under the guidance of

Prof. A.K.Kulkarni. Mr. P.G.Anjankar (Member,

ISHRAE Pune, Chapter) was invited as Chief Guest

for Inauguration function of RSCOE ISHRAE Student

Chapter, Key speaker was Mr. Bhushan Dahake (Sr.

Manager at MAHALE BEHR India Pvt. Ltd.) and Dr.

A.M.Badadhe (HOD,Mech), Dr. R.K.Jain (Principal

RSCOE) attended the Inauguration Function.

Industrial visit to Thermax

Mechanical Engineering department arranged

Industrial visit to Thermax under ISHRAE

students chapter. More than 25 students visited

to Tharmax. Thermax Limited, an engineering

company involved in energy and environment.

Thermax has 14 state-of-the-art manufacturing

facilities which build reliability and quality in-

to the products and systems.

I n d u s t r i a l V i s i t : Mechanical Engineering department has ar-

ranged Industrial visit to TE Students for

MQC subject at Renishaw Ltd. Renishaw is a

leading company in additive manufacturing,

or 3D metal printing, where machines print

parts from metal powder.

V i s i t t o W h i r l p o o l : Mechanical Engineering department has ar-

ranged visit to Whirlpool for ISHARE stu-

dents. More Than 60 students has visited to

Whirlpool through ISHARE Students chap-

ter.

Workshop on Applications of IoT Big-Data and Machine Learning

Two Days workshop on Applications of IoT Big-Data and

Machine Learning in various areas of Mechanical Engi-

neering was held on 29th September in Mechanical Depart-

ment. Experts from TCS, Oracle, Godrej & Boyce deliv-

ered excellent presentations on the various themes of

workshop. More than 100 participants from Nashik, Nagar,

Mumbai, Avasari attended the workshop

V i s h v a k a r m a A w a r d : TE Mechanical Students, Shubham Nikhade and

Shubham Patil have been shortlisted for the Regional

Convention of the 2nd AICTE-ECI-ISTE Chhatra Vish-

vakarma Award 2018 for their project " Development

of Mobile Application for Hyper Local".
