piAnO Designed for children as young as 5, the piano program at BlackRock teaches students keyboard, performance, and general music skills in a fun, relaxed environment. Classes are limited to five participants so students receive suffi-cient attention from the teacher while developing teamwork and listening skills. Each level of instruction should be taken for three sessions, preferably from September to June. The program is meant to be taken in sequence over a five-year period and covers all levels of experience. Presenting an artistic interpretation of one of China’s greatest archaeological discoveries, the “Terracotta Warriors” in Xian, China. In conjunction with Nina Chung Dwyer’s April exhibition, Dwyer will review the process that she used to interpret the Warriors, in which two-dimensional artwork provides a representa-tion of a representation – depicting sculptures that in

turn depict soldiers. Review the work of some modern artists who have inspired Dwyer’s work, and learn background about the Terracotta Warriors, including their construction 2,000 years ago and their reconstruc-tion in the 20th century. parent/guardian supervision: Parents/guardians are responsible for supervising children in the BlackRock building outside of class time. Instructors and BlackRock staff are NOT responsible for students before or after scheduled classes. Students are not allowed in any class-room or theater without an instructor present. Children are not permitted in adult classes and adults are not permitted in children’s classes, even as observers, except as otherwise noted. Late pick-up: Parents may be assessed a $10 late charge if a child is picked up more than 15 minutes after class ends. An additional $1 per minute charge will accrue for any time thereafter. Students who are consistently picked up late may be charged the fee after 5 minutes past the ending time of the class.Liability: BlackRock is not liable for the loss of property or the loss of artwork belonging to the students. Due to limited storage, any artwork left after the session has ended may be discarded by staff.medications: BlackRock staff will not administer medications.
