GLOBAL SPORT MANAGEMENT Each summer a faculty member accompanies a group of students to Europe as part of the Global Sport Management program, offered through FSU International Programs. While most of the program is spent in London (students and faculty live at the FSU Study Center), participants also spend 3-4 days in Paris, France. While learning about the world of international sport participants have a chance to enjoy premiere sporting events such as Wimbledon, the British Open and the finish of the Tour de France in Paris. They also visit historic sport venues, along with many other attractions in the region. Among the sport venues visited are: Roland Garros tennis stadium Stade De France Emirates Stadium (Arsenal soccer) Stamford Bridge (Chelsea Soccer) Lord’s Cricket Ground Wembley Stadium Sport executives visiting with the classes are from such organizations as: Populous Sport British Olympic Association IMG World London 2012 Global Sport Management courses are also open to non-FSU students. Four courses will provide students with advanced knowledge, skills and abilities necessary for coaching at a high level. The education gained and skills learned will provide the best preparation for coaching today’s athletes. Any of these classes can be taken separately without applying for the coaching certificate. These classes will cover the research and theory behind the various topics covered (classes are 3 credit hours): Advanced Coaching (Fall) Athlete Recruitment (Spring) Motor Learning for Coaches (Summer) Sport Psychology for Coaches (Summer) The Coaching Certificate can be earned in one year and courses are not required to be taken in sequence. Application into the Coaching Certificate program is allowed at any time. FSU SPORT MANAGEMENT CONFERENCE The conference held during the fall semester includes presentations from highly respected professionals in the sport industry and academic research presentations. The conference offers opportunities to network with sport industry officials, researchers and with sport management faculty and students. aboUt the MaSter’S proGraM

This degree is designed to provide students with an advanced understanding of sport management and the various components that comprise this area of study. Although course content will focus on the applied aspects of sport management, students will be required to become knowledgeable of the current literature, both applied and research based. In order to enhance the student’s practical experiences, a practicum experience is a required element of the program of study. RequirementsThe GRE is required for admission to the program with a score of 1000 preferred, and a minimum GPA of 3.0 for the last two years of undergraduate studies. The GMAT and LSAT are not accepted at this time.
