Canada Immigration Visa Categories
To immigrate to any country an applicant must first apply for visa to a country he /
she intended to migrate, each country has its own set of rules and regulations to
issue visa to a candidate. Before issuing the visa permit to a Prospective Immigrants
the concerned immigration authorities will attach various norms to their visas, such
as duration of stay, area or province covered by the visa, validity and various other
criteria’s will be considered before issuing visa permit to applicants.
Visas are generally provided for non citizens of the country, visas are issued to an
applicant on the basis of an individual request to enter a country. Since it is the
prerogative of the country to issue visas to an applicant to enter the country, and it
can be revoked any time from the immigration department of the country. Some
countries don’t require visas for short visits.
The Visas can be issued on arrival or by prior application at the country’s embassy
or consulate, or it can be obtained by private visa member who is specialized in the
issuance of international travel documents and these agencies must be authorized
by the foreign authority.
In absence of embassy or consulate in one’s home country, then the applicant have
to travel to a third country (or apply by post) and they have get a visa issued from
there.

Sponsorship Visa
Sponsorship Visa is provided by a company to an applicant who fulfils their required
criteria. The important element of this visa is that the candidate must have
specialised skills that nobody in their country can fill before they can sponsor the
applicant. It can also be sponsored by an individual, normally a family member,
vouching for financial aid for up to 10 years.
For family sponsorship visa to Canada any Canadian citizen or a permanent resident
of Canada can sponsor for spouse, common-law partner, conjugal partner,
dependent child (including adopted child) or eligible relative (such as parent or
grandparent) to become a permanent resident.
Super Visa
Super Visa is provided to parents and grandparents of Canadian citizens, eligible
Permanent Residents can also apply for parent and grandparent super visa. It is
valid for up to 10 years and it allows you to visit your family in Canada for two years
without renewing your status.

There are many requirements needs to be fulfilled by the applicant to obtain Super
Visa such as:
a) He/she must be the parent of grandparent of a Canadian citizen or Permanent
Resident of Canada
b) Must be allowed to enter Canada
c) Must provide written statement from your child or grandchildren that he or she
will give financial support and they (child or grandchildren) have to meet
minimum income threshold to obtain super visa
d) Must have Canadian medical insurance policy for at least one year and have
an immigration medical exam.
e) Dependent Visa
The family members of the person who is already living in a country with a valid visa
are considered as dependents, each country has its own set of rules to issue
dependent visa to the applicants. Applicants who are applying under the Dependent
Visa Clause must fulfil the requirement of immigration policies such as:
1) Must meet the entire requirement for temporary residents to the country.
2) Full satisfaction from the immigration officer
3) Must not have criminal record
