A side-reflecting optic system allows 100% of the light to be used and fully projected forward. When installed, the driver can get a fantastic view at long distance. If weather is bad due to rain, dust, snow or fog there is no short range visual interference to the driver’s eyes caused by unused light. Lumen only indicates how much visible light a device outputs.

Raw lumens is the theoretical maximum output but effective or

actual lumens is a true measure of light output. LUX measurement

is the perfect meaningful reading as described later. A rule of

thumb is to convert raw lumens to effective lumens by multiplying

the former by 0.8.

LUX is the measure of actual usable light out front at the point

where you require it. This rather than lumen which is the measure

of light within the light only before being projected.

Watts are related to the amount of battery power a light

requires to work.

Amps are the amount of current drawn from your alternator and

battery to power the item. (Watts divided by volts = Amps.)

ETM controls heat to a safe level for longevity of product

performance. Life expectancy is reduced and brightness fade

if a light becomes overheated. Utilising Electronic Thermal

Management (ETM) technology can extend the lifespan of LED

lights to beyond 50,000 hours without luminance decrease.

TIR is a superior optical lens system helping to achieve a 40%

higher brightness than similar wattage lights. Meaning Total

Internal Reflection – as example a 40 watt led light with TIR lens

can easily match other 70 watt led lights without TIR. This style of

lens brings less glare and dazzle.

EMC is the unintentional generation, propagation and reception

of electromagnetic energy – To most of us it means lights are

fitted a device to eliminate electrical interference to radio, CB or

GPS.

CREE XM-L2 chip is 40% brighter and longer lasting chip than

most light manufacturer use. CREE are perceived as the leading

technology innovator of LED chips.

Life expectancy refers to anticipated hours of use before the

light will fall below 80% of original luminance value.

Anti-Flicker is a small component addition to eliminate any

slight flickering or fluctuation of light.

Reflector facing technology uses every bit of light and

projects it all forward

IP rating signifies the level of protection from water and dust

ingress. Example would be IP68 means the light is water and dust

proof to a permanent depth of 4 metres (13ft). IP69K is current

highest level and means dust tight and protected against high

temperature, close-range, high pressure hot water spray..

Voltage range shows the input voltages the light will safely

work with.

ECE approval for example E in a circle or in a box is approved

to an EEC regulation or directive. The remaining numbers and

letters indicate which position or function they are legally

approved for use. The term SAE (North American) and ECE

(European) approvals are generally used throughout the world.

Colour render is the ability of a lamp to recreate natural

colours.

LED Drivers maintain current within a safe range. Do not

get the idea if more voltage is applied then LEDs should give off

more light. The amount of light an LED gives off is determined by

current not voltage.

Asymmetric lens is a lens designed to provide an

asymmetric cutoff preventing significant amounts of light from

being cast into the eyes of drivers of preceding or oncoming

vehicles.
