Application In accordance with DIN 68800-1 and DIN 68800-2, this is a structure with the utility class GK 0.

Substructure Post-and-beam structure made of timber, consisting of glulam as per DIN 14080 in conjunction with DIN 20000-3, glulam as per German "abZ" approval or ETA, or of laminated veneered timber as per DIN EN 14374.

Insulating glass elements The insulating glass elements used and to be installed must have the "CE" symbol as per

EN 1279-5 and EN 13022-1 (Bonded glazing, Part 1, Glass products for SSG systems,

load-bearing and non-load-bearing single and multiple glazing).

Glass

Clear, transparent base glass types with maximum colour neutrality must be used.

Connecting strips

Only connecting strips made of birch veneer plywood as per EN 636 "S", as per EN

13986 (EN 636) with appearance class S(II) as per EN 635-2, minimum thickness 12 mm,

minimum bulk density 420 kg/m³, surface twice sanded on all sides (grain 120 and grain

180) EN 635-2 quality S(II), quality of adhesion surface E. Only connecting strips from a

company externally monitored and approved by UNIGLAS GmbH & Co. KG may be

used. For the external inspection, only testing and inspection bodies listed in the current

NANDO list and accredited for timber as a material are accepted. The connecting strip

must as a rule not be glued on free of interruptions over the entire edge length of the

glass. The maximum lengths of the individual strip sections depend on the pane format

pane insulating glass UNIGLAS | .... or similar with connecting strip affixed in

the factory. The PP covers the supply and fitting of the glass supports in

accordance with structural analysis and component test (system section: SYS-

010). Supplier of the TGC elements: Partner companies of UNIGLAS GmbH &

Co. KG http://www.uniglas-facade.de

The insulating glass must be made from 2 x ESG-H (heat-soak single-pane

safety glass) or LSG (laminated safety glass) as per EN 1279 and EN 13022-

1. The middle pane of triple-glazed insulating glass made of TSG in

accordance with EN 12150 or ESG-H, thicknesses of the individual panes

according to structural planning, but at least 6 mm, thermo-technically

improved edge connection made of stainless steel e.g. Chromatech Plus

and/or Chromatech ultra black, SIKA IG-25 HM Plus or SIKA SG 500 silicone,

height of the adhesive/sealant above the spacer bar according to structural

planning, but at least 10 mm.

and expertly glued to the insulating glass, which has been cleaned

beforehand, using Ottocoll S 660, observing defined adhesive geometry,

ensuring that there are no holes or bubbles, and with the correct interlocking

arrangement according to the workshop drawing supplied. The adhesive

surface on the connecting strip must be free of varnish residue. Strips that do

not meet requirements must be kept separate and may not be used. The

adhesive geometry must correspond to the structural analysis. The bond may

not be made at the construction site. The adhesive joint must be fully

hardened according to manufacturer's specifications before fitting of the TGC

element.

The dimensional accuracy, planarity and parallelism of the glulam post-and-

beam structure provided by the customer must be checked and the tolerances

determined before fitting.

The timber construction must be masked with a compressible Duplocoll

adhesive tape before inserting the elements to ensure impermeability to air

and driving rain and to serve as a vapour barrier. The connection joint of the

adhesive tape on the beam must be tight i.e. free from open joints. Any

unplanned moisture penetration into the elements during fitting must be

prevented. The support blocks must be fitted with the aid of a drilling template,

and the TGC element must be lifted in, aligned and screwed to the post-and-

beam structure. When screwing the TGC element into the supporting

structure, it must be ensured that glass substrate and the thick layer of varnish
