(Luke 8:5-15; 2 Cor 9:6; Gal 6:7-9)

A Far Reaching Principle –

An Immutable Principle –

An Abused Principle –

Genesis 1:12 (NKJV) 12 And the earth brought forth grass, the herb that yields seed according to its kind, and the

tree that yields fruit, whose seed is in itself according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.

Job 4:8 (NKJV) 8 Even as I have seen,

Those who plow iniquity And sow

trouble reap the same.

Proverbs 1:31 (NKJV) 31 Therefore they shall

eat the fruit of their own way, And be filled to the

full with their own fancies.

Proverbs 22:8 (NKJV) 8 He who sows

iniquity will reap sorrow, And the rod of his anger will fail.

Proverbs 11:18 (NKJV) 18 The wicked man does deceptive work, But he

who sows righteousness will have a sure reward.

Hosea 10:12 (NKJV) 12 Sow for yourselves

righteousness; Reap in mercy; Break up your fallow ground, For it is time to seek the Lord, Till He comes and rains righteousness on you.

Luke 16:25 (NKJV) 25 But Abraham said, ‘Son,

remember that in your lifetime you received your good things,

and likewise Lazarus evil things; but now he is comforted

and you are tormented.

Romans 2:6–11 (NKJV 6 who “will render to each one

according to his deeds”: 7 eternal life to those who by

patient continuance in doing good seek for glory, honor, and

immortality;

Romans 2:6–11 (NKJV 8 but to those who are self-

seeking and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness—

indignation and wrath, 9 tribulation and anguish, on every soul of man who does evil, of the Jew first and also of the Greek;

Romans 2:6–11 (NKJV 10 but glory, honor, and peace to everyone who

works what is good, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.11 For there is no

partiality with God.

A sower went out to sow his seed: . . . [11] Now the parable is

this: The seed is the word of God. . . . [15] But that on the

good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having

heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience.

From Your Thoughts & DeedsGalatians 6:7–9 (NKJV)

7 Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. 8 For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life. 9 And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due

season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.

From Your Thoughts & DeedsDo Not Be Deceived – (Gal 6:7)

✴ Lit. “to turn up the nose at” – “the reference is not to verbal scoffing, but to the despising of God by a man’s being, by his whole manner of life” (TDNT) Job  13:8  -‐  .  .  .  will  ye  contend  for  God?    By  being  immoral,  impure    &  covetous  -‐  (Ep  5:3;  Jude  1:18)  ParNcipaNng  in  or  approving  of  any  sinful  conduct  (Eph.  5:1-‐18;  Rom  1:28-‐32)

From Your Thoughts & DeedsWe Are All Sowing – but to What?

✴ How do we sow to the FLESH? - (by not following the Holy Spirit’s revelation) - Gal 5:19-21; 1 Cor 6:9-11; Job 4:8; Prov. 6:12-19; 22:8; Mat 19:9-12; Phil 3:19

✴ How do we sow to the SPIRIT? – (By obeying the revelation of the Spirit - thereby putting spiritual things first) — Gal 5:22,23; Rom 1:16,17; 8:2; James 3:17,18; 1 Pet 1:22,23; Mat 6:19-33

From Your Thoughts & DeedsWe Are All Sowing – but to What?

✴ Sow to the flesh (works of the flesh) now - reap corruption / eternal separation from God in hell – (5:16-21; 2 Thes 1:7-9)

✴ Sow the Spirit (fruit of the Spirit) now - reap eternal life – (5:16-18,22-25; Rom 2:7,10; 1 Pet 1:3-9)

✴ I will reap what I have sown – not what you have sown – Rom. 2:5-11; 14:10-12; 2 Cor. 5:10; Mat 25:31-46; John 5:28,29
