program.  The new trees found permanent homes along the pathway to the Gazebo (off Sparkling Lake Way) and at the Pool/Community Centre. They were purchased from and planted by Manotick Tree Movers.  Once again, thank you to those who were involved in this project. Marion, Trish and Suzanne(Beautification Committee)

SOCIAL COMMITTEE: Our annual BBQ is planned for Saturday, August 21st. More details will follow in a few weeks - Mark your calendar!

• I would first like to thank Olivia Hiddema & Melissa Murphy for doing a greatjob with keeping the pool & fitness area clean. Also a big thanks to AdamVerzeroli & Devon Peacock for doing a good job keeping the front sign andthe main area grass cut and clean looking. • A reminder to all that if you are taking food to the pool or beach area,  please clean upafter yourselves. There have been a few times food & fruit has been leftaround and we do not want to attract mice. PLEASE DO NOT BRING GLASS CONTAINERS TO THE POOL AREA. For parents with toddlers stillin diapers, a swimming style diaper is required and please dispose of yourdiapers properly when finished with them.  The lost & found is filling up, parents please check the club house to see if your child has left something behind!• This year we had the dock area redone with steps going down to the dock andtwo boulders placed on either side to anchor the walkway. The anchoring of the dock seems to be working, the dock hasn't floated away. River rock was used to line both sides of the step area to give it a cleaner look. A reminder to everyone that these rocks are not to be thrown in the lake.• We also had a sprinkler system installed for the front grass area and the front ofthe tennis courts. Next year we will look at ways to improve the lawn area,it could use some work. • There had been concerns with extra keys floating around and unauthorizedpeople using the facilities. This summer we replaced the locks and issuednew keys to SVOA residents whose dues were in good standing. Sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused.• There have been some comments & questions regarding the pool temperature. The pool is set at 82-83 degrees, with all this hot weather a lot of thechlorine & water is evaporating. Our pool has a float system that auto fillsas the water goes down, so a lot of cold water is going in. I've had theheating system checked and everything is working properly, I've contactedBenson Pools to schedule a check, they should be looking at our systemshortly. I had the salt system checked and it’s running fine. I installed thenew pool thermal cover and I'm looking at ways to anchor the stand to makeit easier to roll & unroll. At the moment it is very hard for the girls touse. • The beautification committee had trees & plants planted around the pool, club house & beach area. The area looks great, well done and thank you foryour hard work. Brad Goatcher
