  • PLANNED REGIONAL INTERCONNECTION

    320 km, 220 kV Renk to Malakal

    transmission line. This line, which is an extension of a

    line from Sudan, was contracted out

    382 km, 400 kV Olwiyo (Uganda) to Juba (South Sudan)

    transmission line. $1.5 million was committed by AfDB to finance

    feasibility studies for South Sudan section (Juba – Nimule).

    Uganda shall confirm funding for their section.

    Investment cost estimates at $170 million

    FS are were done by Norfund with finances from Norwegian Government

    Construction to take 2 1/2 years

    Final phase can produce approx. 120MW

    Distance from Juba along the main road is 170km

    Could be alternative to Grand Fula
