Sallie Rhea Diggs, age 88, resident of the Williston community, departed this life Wednesday evening, October 18, 2017 at home.

Mrs. Diggs was born July 21, 1929 in Moscow, TN. She received her education in the Fayette County School System. She was married to Johnnie T. Diggs, Sr. for 52 years. Mrs. Diggs was a member of Morris Memorial Baptist Church, where she was the oldest member. She was an avid fan of basketball and major league baseball, which she watched on TV. Her favorite team was the St. Louis Cardinals. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by three daughters, Linda McCaskill (Tommy) of Somerville, TN, Anita Flanagan (Hardy) of Somerville, TN, Beverly German (Alan) of Somerville, TN, fourteen grandchildren and twenty-seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ed Rhea and Jettie Rigsby Rhea, her husband Johnnie T. Diggs, Sr., her son Johnnie T. Diggs, Jr., her daughter Patricia Ann Farley, two sisters, MaryBelle Coulter, Mamie Rhea Smith and five brothers, JW “Buck” Rhea, Willie “Bill” Rhea, Earnest Rhea, Auther Rhea and Clarence Rhea.

The family requests that memorials be directed to Morris Memorial Baptist Church, 130 3rd Ave., Moscow, TN 38057.
