  3. 3. The Hydroculture System
    • The Hydorculture System consist of:
    • The Water-level Indicator
    • Water-level indicators resemble a thermometer and discreetly protrudes from the container. As water is added, the marker in the water-level indicator rises. When it reaches the optimum (OPT) mark, stop watering. As the water is used up the water-level indicator falls. When it reaches its bottom level, its time to water again. About every two to three weeks. Its best (in most cases) to wait until the pot is completely dry. Generally a few days after the water-level indicator shows empty.
    • The Cutlture Pot
    • The plastic hydroculture insert is a culture pot which provides an oasis for plants. It is designed with openings on the bottom and sides. When the water-level indicator shows OPT, the openings on the bottom are under water. As the water level goes down, air circulates in. When you add water again, the rising water level forces trapped air up and through the expanded clay pellets bringing fresh and much needed supply of oxygen to the plants roots.
    • The Expanded Clay
    • A natural material of clay with unchanging characteristics. It does not break down and is inert. It supports the plant in four ways. It holds up the plant, and it absorbed the water so the plant roots are not rotting in water. Oxygen circulates through out the root zone, and no bugs, mold, fungi or insects can live in the expanded clay.
    • The Nturient Solution
    • Soil Free Plants Hydroculture slow release nutrient comes in a granular form. Which is good for 3 - 4 months before having to replenish.
    • The Outer Container
    • The container can be your choice of pot as long as the pot has no drainage holes.
