I have been involved with knives and tools since my grandfather gave me my first pocketknife. It meant more to me than just a knife. It represented a trust and a rite of passage. That’s something that most of you can relate to and an experience we need to keep alive for our young people today.

Since that time, I have used knives and tools continually throughout my career, on the ranch, in the military, and all over the world on set. I had carried a SOG multi-tool for years before we decided to work together and those who know me, know that I will only be associated with the very best.

Using the proven PowerLock chassis, SOG is the only company to apply Compound Leverage technology to EOD (Explosive Ordnance Disposal), this makes it a breeze to crimp blasting caps. Another unique SOG feature is the positioning of the crimper device within the confines of the handle, not in the plier jaw, like all other designs. This serves to minimize collateral damage to the crimper and allows the operator to have full use of the uninterrupted plier surface. Additionally there is no weakening of the pliers that often causes breakage of the plier tips.

Not often are we able to bring you what we feel is so new, so functional, and so outside the box that it is a game changer! Enter: BladeLight. It’s patent pending technology employs 6 LEDs molded into the GRN handle on either side of the knife blade, providing shadowless light when cutting or flashlight capability (while sheathed or closed). Of course the knives can still be used without turning on the LEDs. Powered by standard alkaline batteries, state of the art push button switches/circuitry and an IPX-7 rating for water resistance to full immersion it’s easy to see the BladeLight is no amateur. When night is upon you, no longer will you be juggling a light in one hand and knife in the other.

The clip point fixed blade is matched to a streamlined handle for excellent balance and intuitive control. A single AA battery provides 25 Lumens of bright white light. The molded hard sheath is easily removed from ones belt allows the flashlight to be used while the knife is in the sheath. Also, while mounted on ones hip, the light can illuminate your way. The sheath features a patent pending button retention system and quiet carry tensioner. We also wanted you to have the best switch in the business, so we developed a full on full off switch (each and every time) that also half-taps to 40% output and then tactical strobe (see next page). The DarkEnergy Difference:Brightness - Many companies boast of a certain lumen output (from the LED/bulb manufacturers) but have they ever tested it? We have. Our testing equipment is state of the art. When we give you a spec, it has a realistic range or tolerance because all LEDs vary in output, i.e. 225-238 lumens. We are using the CREE XPG R5, which puts out a whiter light more usable to the human eye. This makes our torch the very brightest for its size. Battery Life – When we give you a specification for time until the remaining battery life is at 10%, not 0% like other companies. For example our DarkEnergy 247A light has a burn time of 145 minutes at 100% power.

Anodizing - We are using a Mil-Spec Type III hard anodizing process that is tougher and harder than almost all other flashlights. We also use a proprietary process to make the anodizing more non-slip and anti-reflective.

Material - Our lights are manufactured from aerospace-grade 6061-T6 aluminum. Our clips are made from heat treated stainless steel.

Design - SOG style is hard to duplicate. Our knurling is deeper and our general configuration requires much more machining than standard flashlights. Resulting in a unique style that is distinctively SOG. Notice how SOG is actually machined into the handle rather than stamped or engraved. It is these details that make the difference between the ordinary and extraordinary.

Circuits - The circuits that we use make the LED more efficient (brighter) and allow the battery to run longer. Ours has three settings, 100%, 40% (lengthens burn time), and strobe. This is a proprietary SOG innovation developed in conjunction with law enforcement.

Switches - We use the very best. There is a huge difference in the quality of switches. Full power can be accessed on and off with a light touch as well as fully switched on each time.

Reflectors /lenses - We use formed aluminum rather than coated plastic for the reflector, which produces better light transmittance and pattern. The reflector uses a special surface configuration to control the focus. The shatter resistant optical-grade polycarbonate lens is clearer than those of competitors.

Batteries – Our lights use the best power sources available, the CR-123A Lithium battery. This represents the very best in battery technology and is readily available across the globe.

Quality control and ratings - Our lights meet or exceed ANSI FL1-2009 requirements according to the industry testing standards published by the US National Electrical Manufacture Association. Our lights are assembled in a dust-free laboratory environment to insure reliability and performance. Our state-of-the-art lab tests light output, water/weather resistance, peak beam intensity, impact resistance, thermal shock, cycling etc.

SOG Assisted Technology works through the balance of opposing

high-tension coil springs. As one opens the blade the force to propel

the knife open becomes greater than the closing force and the blade

will open on its own. The end result propels the blade out once the

operator has initiated the one-handed opening action. SAT works so

well that right-handers can use their left hand equally well to open a

folding knife (of course this works oppositely for lefties).

The first thing that is obvious about the Force is how stout it is. The thick blade and minimal grind profiles maximize the strength of the blade. The SCUBA/DEMO is the rarest of the Special Forces SOG knives. In fact, only one original is known to exist today. Originally, 39 were made and 38 were delivered to the Naval Advisory Detachment for missions along the North Vietnamese coastline. Of the 38 issued, 36 were lost in operations and the other two were never seen again. Using current manufacturing techniques we are now able to create a spectacular reproduction of this ultra-rare knife and modernized it as well.

Laser EngravingSOG has a complete laser engraving department. All of our knives and multi-tools can be engraved with your slogan or company logo. Call the SOG sales department for more details.

SOG Warranty Information:All SOG knives, tools and gear are guaranteed against defects in workmanship and materials for the life of the original purchaser. Sharpeners are guaranteed for one-year from the time of purchase. This guarantee is voided (as determined by SOG) by misuse, abuse, improper maintenance, or alterations of the product and does not cover any normal wear or tear that might occur.

We are not responsible for lost or stolen packages that do not arrive to our facility.

SOG reserves the right to the repair or replacement of a product at our discretion. Products that are discontinued and not repairable will be returned as-is with a gift certificate of similar value, as determined by SOG, which can be used for a future purchase.

Examples of Non-Warranted items:Rusted/spotted/stained blades or handles (coated or not), broken or bent knife tips, worn tool components, dull/chipped knife blades, scratched blade/tool coatings, worn/loose Kraton slabs, sheaths and pouches (if brand new sheaths are determined to be defective they are replaced separately from the knife/tool), and broken/lost thumb studs.

SOG Unconditional Pocket Clip Warranty:Pocket clips can be broken if they are accidentally caught on foreign objects while wearing. To help prevent such occurrences, SOG recommends that you wear your knife in your front pocket, with the knife inside your pocket. If, for whatever reason, your clip bends or breaks and you would like to receive a replacement, email or visit http://sogknives.com/store/clip_request.html. Damage to a knife handle because a clip has snagged is not considered “normal,” and any such damage will be assessed under warranty.

Sharpening: SOG offers a sharpening service for our products at the minimal charge of $12.00.

Broken Blades:In the unlikely case that your knife blade breaks, we will do a hardness test on it to see if it is within specs and therefore eligible for replacement.

Costs:SOG will pre-determine the cost of repair or replacement of non-warranted items and communicate the estimated cost to the customer before any work is performed.

When returning product for warranty/replacement please do the following:Include a brief note inside your package stating what you are returning, the claimed defect and how it failed. Also, include inside the package, your name, address, and a daytime phone number or email address to reach you in case we have any questions.
