Feathers have become one of the most popular trends seen in weddings right now. From dramatic decorative elements, to subtle details, feathers can add a touch of elegance to any wedding. Zucker Feather products has created a photo journal of images found on the world wide web to show just how creative designers, decorators and stylists are getting by using feathers within the world of wedding decor. We are shown how feathers can make bold and luxurious statements for event decor, garments & accessories, bouquets & boutonnieres, and gift wrap & stationary.

Because feathers come in so many varieties of style and size in either natural or dyed colors, their are endless possibilities for how they can be incorporated within wedding themes. Based on current trends, we have selected a color collection from our library and have provided a list of feather styles available to help identify what feather items are best to achieve the look you want.

Designing With FeathersBouquets & BoutonniersCurrent bridal trends have shown us just how fantastic feathers can look as bridal bouquets and boutonnieres. When used in combination with other flowers, feathers are a great way to add contrast and texture to any floral arrangement. What’s great is that using feathers can also extend the longevity of a bouquet, helping it look good throughout the entire event.

Event DecorWith a little imagination, feathers can be included within the decor of any wedding color scheme. For a bigger, more elaborate impact, Ostrich, Peacock or Pheasant feathers work well for centerpiece arrangements for both the ceremony and reception site. These styles of feathers can be used to decorate aisle ways, tables, chairs, and even cakes. Feather boas are also great to use as garland for decorating large spaces, or even for a small table centerpiece.

Garments & AccessoriesFrom literally head to toe, feather are being used in the most creative ways within wedding fashions of today. Subtle detailing with feathers can accentuate a bridal veil, a waist sash, hair fascinator or even a shoe clip. To give a wedding look a more sophisticated and glamorous style, Feather fringes can be added to a purse, or bridal garment. Feather shrugs and shawls can also make for the perfect accessory to cover up a strapless dress during a church ceremony or keep warm during the cooler seasons.

Gift Wrap & StationaryFeather motifs can be as simple as gluing a single feather on your save-the-date cards, invitations, and programs. This theme can also be carried out with gift wrapping or wedding favors. Give your guests a decadent chocolate truffle to take home inside a box topped with a small piece of marabou boa you glued on to make it a little more fancy & fun. Or for a final touch, a loose feather can be placed inside your “Thank You” notes.

Feathers can also be used to decorate wedding ring

pillows and flower girl baskets, along with card receiving boxes, guest

books and fancy pens to sign them with.

Adding ribbons and other crafting materials such as

rhinestones and pearls are perfect finishing touches

for these wedding essentials.
