UNREALISTIC OPTIMISMIt’s a form of defensive attribution where people think that good things are more likely to

happen to them and bad things are less likely to happen to them.

Tendency to imagine that our own outcomes are better than those of other people.

In the video :

- Darren drank a few bottles of beer.

- He wasn’t fully conscious.

- His friend called to ask him out and he thought he could make it.

- Ended up crashing in a tree and he was sent to hospital.

BYSTANDER EFFECTIt’s a social psychological phenomenon that refers to cases in which individuals do not offer help

with the presence of other people.

In the video :

- Darren crashed into a tree, he came out from the car and lied down on the ground unconsciously.

- A guy passed by to check on him.

- He hesitated whether he should help to call the ambulance.

- The girl thought that someone else will be calling so there was no need of them doing so.

- Both of them walked away.

RACIAL PREJUDICEIt’s a type of prejudice or hostility towards people of different colors and races.

Covert, subtle feelings directed towards a racial group.

In the video :

- Darren’s doctor was a Bengalese.

- Darren’s friend Jia Jian seemed annoyed by his explanation.

- Jia Jian was doubting about the doctor’s ability because of his race.

- Jia Jian thought that the doctor wasn’t trustworthy.

AGGRESSIONIt’s a behavior that intends to harm another individual

Can be either verbal or physical actions.

Sometimes used to release anger, frustration or address conflict.

In the video :

- Darren’s doctor, Kelvin was explaining Darren’s condition to Jia Jian.

- Kelvin looked dead serious and his facial expression seemed unfriendly.

- Kelvin’s way of talking and his race triggered Jia Jian’s frustration to hurt him.

PROSOCIAL BEHAVIOUR : EGOISTIC MODELProsocial behavior is the positive social action intended to help others.

Egoistic model is when behaviors are done for selfish reasons.

In the video :

- Darren was discharged from the hospital.

- Suddenly, his wheel chair started rolling down the slope.

- A girl rushed out to stop the wheel chair and saved him.

- The girl asked to borrow 50ringgit from him.

- Turned out the girl saved him just because she wanted to borrow money from him.
