INTRODUCTION• Suicide is a self impose death

with the intent to die.• "act of taking one's own life".• Suicide prevention camp is

driven targeting everyone for awareness.

• Objective of the campaign is to intervene people who are showing the sign of suicide.

• Assisted suicide is when one individual helps another bring about their own death indirectly via providing either advice or the means to the end.

• This is in contrast to euthanasia, where another person takes a more active role in bringing about a person's death.

• Happens officially over Netherland, Belgium, Switzerland. While on other places it is illegal.

• Poverty and Inflation• Unemployment / Financial

Insecurity• Lack of education• Frustration• Depression• Uncertainty• Lack of parental support.• Relationship Problem

• Suicide bombings• Poisoning• Hanging• Firearms• Drowning• Self-Immolation• Jumping• Use of medicines (in

minority).• Ingestion of insecticides.

ROLE OF ELECTRONIC MEDIA

Suicide can be decreased by:

• Educating people• Notify people who overcome

failures – Joseph Conrad (Author of Book:

Heart of Darkness and filmed as Apocalypse Now)

• Don’t report descriptions of suicide methods.

• Avoid repetition and the word “suicide” in news.

• Avoid dramatic visuals.• Take particular care when

reporting celebrity suicides.– Robin Williams (Hollywood actor)

CONTROLLING SUICIDE• Suicide prevention programs

should be integrated.• Suicide prevention telephone

hotlines.• Initiating school based

interventions.• Suicide prevention interventions

should be pre-emptive rather than reactive.

• Suicide stories can inform readers about symptoms, warnings and treatments for suicide.
