OUR MISSIONis to ensure that all people impacted by cancer are

empowered by knowledge, strengthened by action, and

sustained by community.

Gilda’s Club South Florida is a free, nonprofit

cancer support community.

All of these critical support services are offered to men, women and children touched by cancer free of charge.

Gilda’s Club offers five Comprehensive Program Components:

Support Services provide ongoing shared exploration of emotional and social issues related to living with cancer. Services offered include Support & Networking Groups, Friends & Family Groups, Men’s Club, and Bereavement.

Education Programs provide opportunities to obtain new information and techniques to learn about how to live with cancer.

Healthy Lifestyle workshops reduce stress, improve health maintenance, and promote creative expression. Watercolors, Yoga, Zumba, Book Worm Club, and Nutrition are just some of the workshops offered.

Social Connections help build a sense of community and belonging among Gilda’s Club Members. These events include the Holiday Party and Noogiefest as well as weekly Mah Jongg games and Coffee Talk.

Resources & Referrals are offered to our members and include a resource library, computer access, and referrals to resources in the broader community when needed.

Gilda’s Club also provides a special program known as Noogieland to support children and teens who lives have been impacted by cancer.

Noogieland is both a concept and a place where children and teens touched by cancer can express their emotions through art and play. Parents and children also enjoy Super Saturday activities including picnics, arts & crafts, and more.

Kids CAN - Cancer Awareness Now is an innovative cancer education program for middle and high school students created by the Gilda’s Club South Florida program staff. This one of a kind program provides students with an interactive presentation that discusses how cancer is diagnosed, the different forms of treatment and how a person can socially/emotionally support a friend or family with a diagnosis.

During 2014, 1,648 participated in Kids CAN during 44 educational workshops.

In 2014, Gilda’s Club South Florida...

hosted 267 adult support groups,

held 26 educational programs,

facilitated 256 healthy lifestyle workshops including book club, watercolors, yoga and drumming,

presented the 1st Annual Back to School Bash,

and invited members to the 1st annual Thanksgiving Pot Luck.
