Hi all! First off, I want to say thank you to all of you who rated our project online today! Wow!!!! You guysare really helping us out!!!! Thanks so much!!!!! Now for my latest project! I’ve mentioned that earlyChristmas decorating is a family tradition going way back! We have always put the trees up right afterHalloween and it feels right to me! So here I am again, early November decorating my Christmas Tree!

I had to start from scratch this year because ALL of our ornaments were strewn across Hwy 114 on moving day(note to self ~ do not put a lightweight rubbermaid container in the bed of a truck). Thankfully they were of no

sentimental value! I was going to revamp them anyway to match my new color scheme!

Here is the first of the replacements!

I’m sure you all have these!

Ashley’s Snowflake Ornament http://www.shanty-2-chic.com/2009/11/ashleys-snowflake-orn...

2 of 26 12/26/11 5:42 PM

Pair it with a bunch of cream colored buttons and a hot glue gun!

Cut 6 long and 6 shorter pieces using a pair of wire cutters

Ashley’s Snowflake Ornament http://www.shanty-2-chic.com/2009/11/ashleys-snowflake-orn...

and hot glue each piece around a large button alternating sizes.

more hot glue….

and sandwich the wires with another large button.

Glue the buttons to each wire creating a pattern…

and flip! Copy the same pattern on the reverse side. Now for the hangin’

Ashley’s Snowflake Ornament http://www.shanty-2-chic.com/2009/11/ashleys-snowflake-orn...

5 of 26 12/26/11 5:42 PM

Use a strand of 1ply jute twine and glue it between the top two buttons to hide the edge

and coil up to the tip of the wire.

Ashley’s Snowflake Ornament http://www.shanty-2-chic.com/2009/11/ashleys-snowflake-orn...

6 of 26 12/26/11 5:42 PM

Tie a knot at the top creating a loop for hanging. Now that was painless!!!!

Can’t wait to hang it from my tree!!!

Love all the fun stuff you guys do! I was wondering though; where do you find all your finials? I havelooked at Lowes, Michaels, Hobby Lobby. Everyone looks at me like I am crazy when I ask about them.

At Lowes are they in a certain place? Can you help?
