Praise God for His faithfulness at ECC Hatfield We’ve done it! We’ve made it through the first term at ECC Hatfield. No, scratch that. Not ‘made it’, but ‘thrived’. What a great term it’s been! From moments of doubt and fear to moments of awe and wonder, there is no doubt that ECC Hatfield is taking ground and changing lives: “I had so much fun last night @ECC_Hatfield - thank you all so much. Its safe to say its my new home” said one new visitor on twitter. “I’ve been searching for a church for almost a year, and never felt at home - but this church is different, it feels like home and I’ve only been here three times” said another. “I’m so glad my friend invited me to visit this church - my life is getting back on track and I’m feeling so much closer to God” said a TUKS student after we prayed with him this past Wednesday evening. It is testimonies like this that encourage us, the team, working at our newest ECC Campus in Hatfield. In the past couple of months we’ve seen students go from conservative worshippers to worshippers who whole heartedly express their devotion to God. This past week, particularly, there was such a tangible sense of God’s presence and an outpouring of worship that we continued to worship through the preaching time, while people came to the front to be prayed for. We’ve also seen the truth of who Jesus is communicated through our series “The Real Jesus”. There are many perceptions out there as to who Jesus Christ really is - but only His Word truly reveals His character. So over the past few weeks the sermons have communicated the true nature of Jesus: grace, mercy, healing, peace, servant King, God, provider and - this coming week - giver of the best possible life. We have officially (as in, on our database) welcomed 30 new people to ECC Hatfield - and these are the students who have filled in visitors cards. There are definitely more who have not done so. As we head into the second term, the intensity rises. We are planning more social events, outreach events, a student camp and great moments of worship and teaching as we start our next ECC Hatfield series “Time to Be”, examining Paul’s teaching to the young Timothy. ANNUAL BUSINESS MEETING This past year has been another amazing year. We intend to hold the ABM at 19:00 on Monday, 22 April at Eastside, Moreleta. TRAILER MINISTRY UNDERWAY The dates are set and a mission team from Coastal Community Church (U.S.) arrives on 5 July so we can kick off Trailer Ministry, 7 – 13 July. A minimum of two teams will be deployed to under-resourced churches with support team leaders who have committed to serving in the areas of catering, housing, transportation, touring with the U.S. team, and trailer preparation. The mission team leaders are ready, so what’s next? Team members! You can either sign up to go out for a life- changing week or assist a supporting team to make that difference. THE MARRIAGE COURSE HELPERS There is an opportunity for three couples or singles to help us serve meals during The Marriage Course. Catering, venue preparation and clean-up is organised; you will simply be required to serve the meal, and tea and coffee from 19:00 – 22:00.
