R&D Tax Credits

First introduced in 2000, R&D tax credits are one of the UK government’s ways of spurring businesses to innovate and develop new products and services in the UK. The reliefs ease the cost of R&D spending in the UK and so contribute to business-based innovation in the UK. They are one of a number of policies aiming to make the UK economy more competitive.

Talent Retention Solution

The Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders continues to support TRS and has negotiated a 10% discount for SMMT members.

TRS is a UK-wide strategy which aims to grow and sustain our skills base in the Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering Sector, including Aerospace, Automotive, Nuclear, Power Generation and Renewable industries.

TRS provides a job and candidate database, which puts people in touch with employers and vice versa.

The jobs and candidate database is part of the wider strategy to grow and sustain our skills base within and across the sector

Free for SMEs (does not include a microsite)

How does it work: Employers register www.talentretention.biz on the system and post jobs. People register on TRS www.talentretention.biz and have visibility of jobs. The system works in such a way that employers can search for contact and recruit people directly, people can find and contact employers the same way.

TRS has also developed specific functionality to support talent management within companies and has proved highly successful. For more information on this service or other matters connected with TRS please visit www.smmt.co.uk/smmt-membership/member-services/ or contact Richard Smith, Engagement Director, [email protected] | 07791 722242.
