smash hits analysis presentation

Analysis of: SMASH HITS
FRONT COVER
Target audienceSmash Hits magazine is music magazine that was aimed at a young teenage
audience with an age range from 9-14. Generally the magazine would be aimed at a female audience, because of the use of mostly pink and red
colours. Also, all issues featured gossip which stereotypically attracts girls more than males. From the amount of images used on the front cover, it
suggests the audience are not yet very well educated.
Contents: Due to the large use of images, I believe that the target audience would differ and be aimed towards a younger age range; 8-12years. Again the same gender would apply to the contents due to the colours, but also it
would attract a female audience as it provides a glimpse of a male band that was popular at the time.
Double page spread: The double page spread is clearly targeted for the fans of the main feature ‘McFLY’ who would tend to be young teenage girls of an
age range between 10 and 15. We can notice this because of the heavy use of images of the band.
