it’s that time of the week again friends. Welcome

home to sleeKville where we eat, drink and sleep what?...being sleeK. We went on a reggae sumfest par last weekend so you know we have to share those moments with you. and after one humorous experience we decided to serve up a few #twitterrules that should be strictly enforced even if you’re under the influence from one of the tempting mixes you’ll find inside, at the movies, or hard at work trying to transform your current state into that beach body you’ve been longing for.

S: Why, when and how did you get into each field? T: i’ve been doing makeup for 5 years and i started fashion designing about a year ago last summer. i just love makeup and i like making people feel beautiful and looking beautiful. i enjoy doing makeup because it’s a joy to do someone’s makeup and they look in the mirror and they’re like wow they love it. that makes me feel good, so that’s really my push in makeup.

S: What about fashion designing?T: i’ve always loved clothes...like i’ve always loved cutting up my clothes and transforming them. i got a sewing machine for my birthday last summer and i just decided that, i know how to make clothes and i can make money out of it and i love fashion, so why not?

S: since you’ve started, how has working in both fields been?

T: Both have been very good and very responsive. especially fashion because in a short period of time it took off in ways that i didn’t think it was going to and as a result of that i now have a large customer base.

S: What do you see as one of the most misunderstood things about the fields by the public? T: (For makeup) i would say the money part of it because people think that makeup is cheap and my services don’t matter and they don’t think that they should pay for it. and for fashion…when it comes to orders,

a PassiOn FOr FashiOn and a PassiOn FOr beauty, thOse are the tWO desires that rule in the liFe OF Our Featured sleeKie, tiFFany gray. the FashiOn designer and maKeuP artist has been hard at WOrK With her tWO lOVers sinCe she Fell FOr them. the thing is…she Just Can’t seem tO get uP. maybe she dOesn’t Want tO…What’s uP With that tiFmel?

people don’t understand that they’re not the only person who’s making one. When they make an order they’re about like number 20 on the list. there’s a very demanding drive to it and people want clothes now, like fast food.

S: What colours/shades are your most favourite to work with in fashion?T: i like to work with colours. i like colour blocking because that’s in now so it’s like orange and pink and green and blue.

S: how would you describe the tifMel fashion line style?T: it’s simple line because it’s not like runway stuff. it’s clothing

that you can wear every day. it’s simple, sexy and affordable because my prices aren’t like store prices because most of my customers are high school and university students so my prices will cater to their pockets.

S: Where would you want to see

yourself in say…5 years?

T: i see myself owning stores all over the world.

S: What job/design done so far did you have the most fun with?T: umm…to tell you the honest truth i’ve done so many that i can’t say. none of my jobs are really ever like fun because they’re always demanding and i always have to be working. especially if there’s a fashion show and i have to do makeup and my clothes are in the fashion show as well. it’s pretty hectic.

S: What’s hot this summer?T: For makeup, i like the natural look still so i like dark eyes. i don’t like the whole heap of colours really for makeup. When it comes to fashion, colours are definitely hot. Colour blocking is the thing that’s definitely in and also sheer tops.

S: Where can we find TifMel designs?T: i don’t have a store so the most people can do is go on Facebook and search tifMel because i have a page where a lot of pictures of the designs are. there’s also a makeup page there.

i-octane, Popcaan, Konshens, Khago, Cham and spice were among the outstanding performers on a night that was full of good performances.notably, whether it was set up or not, throughout Khago and I-Octane’s set, fire-crackers and flaming aerosol lit up the night sky. Zealous fans huh?Popcaan showed that he’s now capable of walking in his own shoes as he exhibited some amount of maturity when compared to his usual performances. And finally, the queen has been crowned. Lady Saw was officially crowned and robed the ‘Queen of Dancehall’. the ‘mumma’ delivered a great performance that left her fans in want of more.spice proved that she was indeed the ‘princess of dancehall’ as she gave a stellar performance and generated quite a stir from her grand fairy-tale entrance onstage to the moment that she exited.the Cham/o duo presented a steamy perfor-mance that was well received by patrons.Montego Bay native tommy Lee, was an-other crowd favourite and Bounty Killer and tifa were also excellent.

17 acts, but 2 extremely, highly anticipated acts, the big, dutty, stinking shabba and the youthful trey songz. as the action of the event’s second night got underway, it was the two along with reggae heavyweight tarrus Riley who brought the heat.“a me man, big, dutty, stinking shabba!” the dancehall veteran brought with him his signature line. His first performance in 11 years on local soil was nothing short of mas-terful as he commanded the stage and audience with hits such as X-Rated, Wicked in Bed, Reality and Girls Graduation.the ear-splitting screams of females welcomed trey songz to the

stage. For that, they were treated to a delightful performance that only welcomed more screams. the young star paid tribute to Jamaica’s 50th year of independ-ence with his version of Bob Marley’s turn your Lights Down Low.i wonder who were the recipients of his sunglasses, sweaty towel and shirt.‘singy singy’ himself, tarrus Riley, left his mark all over the

stage with a grand performance. he was exceptional (nothing unusual).the night was rounded off by a special Jamaica 50 tribute from veteran entertainers such as Derrick harriott, yellowman and Pinchers.

The event’s final night was just as good as the others and saw a magnificent Damian ‘Junior Gong’ Marley pulling out all the stops to put down an unforgettable performance.he left no doubt as to whom the title of ‘best performer of the night’ belonged to.the internationally renowned american R&B crooner R Kelly was equally brilliant.although his performance came after more than an hour of delay, he somewhat made up for that through the monster performance he presented.his songs had an effect on patrons that anyone could have guessed - R Kelly had patrons in the palm of his hands.his female dominated fan base was certainly out and at times seemed to want to take over the performance as they sang with him.Protoje and Christopher Martin also did fairly well as they continue to project themselves as future stars. at the end of it all, Reggae sumfest’s 20th proved to be a good one.

AT THE MOVIEsTedRelease Date: 13 July 2012Mark Wahlberg’s childhood wish for his teddy bear to come to life came true. But as an adult the teddy’s vulgar slacker lifestyle is interfering with his attempts to woo the beautiful Mila Kunis.as expected, director seth MacFarlane’s (of Family Guy) edgy hu-mour is evident throughout the film.

The WaTchRelease Date: 27 July 2012 (today)Ben stiller, a city hotshot, moves out to the suburbs and is forced to join the local neighbourhood watch association which consists of other dads looking to get time away from their families. the group’s mundane day-to-day existence becomes more eventful when they stumble across an alien plot to destroy the world. With a script writ-ten by seth Rogen and evan Goldberg (the team behind superbad and Pineapple express), one can expect great humour.

The Bourne legacyRelease Date: 3 august 2012nope, Matt Damon’s not in it. the exciting character of Jason Bourne is not in it. Instead, this film is a standalone story about anoth-er agent (Jeremy Renner) trained by the murderous shadow govern-ment operation treadstone, who went through experiences similar to Bourne’s. Although no Damon, still expect the fast-paced, fist-flying action that you’ve become used to from the ‘Bourne’ movies. Let’s hope it lives up to the success of its predecessors.

ToTal recallRelease Date: 3 august 2012the latest total Recall sees Colin Farrell, a factory worker, beginning to suspect that he’s a spy, though he is unaware which side of the fight he’s on. The directors have gone PG-13 with the film, throwing out the wonderful bloody violence of the original. this remake is a very tricky situation as the film may or may not connect well with the nowadays audience. Let’s see how it goes especially in a summer that a lot of hot films have been out and are still coming.

The expendaBleS 2Release Date: 17 august 2012As we’ve seen from the first movie, the film wasn’t as good as its line-up of top actors. that may change here with stallone handing over directing duties to simon West (tomb Raider, the Mechanic). arnold schwarzenegger, Bruce Willis, steve austin, Jean-Claude Van Damme and Chuck norris are some of the brand names said to be in this sequel. Let’s just hope they can match the names with a good story or even some stunning fight scenes.

Super fiT !The summer is finally here and that means it’s now time to head down to the beach and show off that body you’ve been working on for the past months. Wait...you have been exercising right?Well if not, now’s the time to take action.to help you get a beach-ready body, sLeeK’s sharing with you our top tips to give you the best results in the next two weeks.Sike! 2 weeks?! It’s not that easy, if even possible. But either way, it’s worth it.

STop!!!stop working your abs hoping that if you do hundreds of sit ups/ crunches you will be able to burn lots of fat. Fyi, it just doesn’t work like that. the body burns fat from places that you have no control of and doing sit ups/ crunches won’t even burn anywhere near enough calories to cause fat burning effect.

exerciSeone word, exercise. Whoa, sorry if you thought this was some sort of magic trick to help you shed the fat without putting in the work.Mind you, there’s no need to spend hours in the gym doing set after set for each body part six days per week fol-

lowed by hours of end-less cardio to see quick results. What you do need is a 20-25 minute whole body workout done 3-4 times per week using rounded exercises that use the largest mus-cle groups in the body.

nuTriTionFeed your body with ReaL food. try to eat as much fresh foods as pos-sible staying away from processed one which are generally high in fat, salt and sugar.

WaTerBe sure to drink at least 2 litres of fresh water per day.

Top SecreT!!!Depending on the shape you are in, we just might be able to work

a miracle. it’s all about burning fat and build-ing muscle and we can tell you how to burn as many as 20 calories?? a minute and lose as much as 1% of body fat a week!the secret is all in some-thing called a kettlebell.it’s a device that looks like a cannonball with a handle. Because of its design it’s great for swinging which adds a cardiovascular ele-ment that weight lifting doesn’t have.you can use your ket-tlebell in ‘high intensity interval training’, which simply put is moving from one exercise to another with as little rest in between as possible.Check out workouts that can be done with a ket-tlebell and get to it.
