DIGITAL CAMERAS WERE USED TO SHOOT THE ENTIRE FILM.CGI WAS USED REALISTICALLY AND WHEN NECESSARY FOR EXAMPLE IT WAS USED FOR THE EXPLOSION OF THE MI6 HEADQUARTERS.THE INTERNET AND SOCIAL MEDIA WERE USED EFFECTIVELY TO MARKET THE FILM. THE OFFICIAL FULL TRAILER WAS VIEWED OVER 24 MILLION TIMES ON YOUTUBE AFTER BEING UPLOADED BY THE OFFICIAL SONY PICTURES ENTERTAINMENT CHANNEL. THE TRAILER WAS ALSO POSTED ON THE OFFICIAL JAMES BOND FACEBOOK PAGE WHICH IS FOLLOWED BY 4.2 MILLION PEOPLE, THIS WOULD HAVE GIVEN THE FILM MASSIVE EXPOSURE AS IT WOULD HAVE BEEN SHARED AROUND FACEBOOK FOR MILLIONS OF OTHERS TO SEE. THE FILM WAS LATER CONVERTED INTO THE IMAX FORMAT FOR PROJECTION IN IMAX CINEMAS.THE FILM WAS NOT MADE AVAILABLE FOR 3D VIEWING, THE PRODUCERS OF SKYFALL SAID THE JAMES BOND FRANCHISE WASN’T “QUITE READY” TO JUMP TO 3D YET.

• THE JAMES BOND FRANCHISE IS CONSIDERED A NATIONAL TREASURE AND PART OF BRITAIN'S HERITAGE AND CULTURE SO NOT MUCH WAS NEEDED TO BE DONE TO CATCH THE ATTENTION OF THE BRITISH CONSUMERS PRIOR TO SKYFALL’S RELEASE. WORD OF MOUTH SEEMS TO DO MOST OF THE MARKETING FOR BOND FILMS IN THE UK BECAUSE ITS SUCH A LEGENDARY FRANCHISE OVER HERE.

• SKYFALL HAD PARTS SET IN SHANGHAI IN ORDER TO TRY AN APPEAL TO THE EVER-GROWING CHINESE MARKET. THE FILM ALSO HAD TO HAVE KEY SCENES CUT OUT OF IT (AS INSTRUCTED BY THE CHINESE GOVERNMENT) IN ORDER FOR IT TO BE RELEASED IN CHINA.
