Speaker Information

Tracy Alim Tracy Alim has more than 25 years of manufacturing experience in the automotive, light metals, glass, chemical and electronics industries. He has held progressive po-sitions in manufacturing management, maintenance management and engineering management in Fortune 500 companies. Mr. Alim’s expertise is in manufacturing op-erations and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE). His methods include lean manufacturing and Six Sigma, with emphasis on kaizen events, team development and manufacturing metrics. As vice president of consulting for medium enterprises, he leads a team of consultants who provide business growth, continuous improve-ment, information technology, productivity improvement and quality improvement services to manufacturers with 150 employees or more. Mr. Alim holds both M.S. and B.S. degrees in mechanical engineering from Tuskegee University, and he is a certified six sigma black and a certified lean sigma black belt.

Mark Sewell Mark Sewell has more than 25 years experience as an engineer, manager and con-sultant in the areas of operations management, manufacturing engineering and qual-ity assurance. His experience has focused on the applications of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methods in the semiconductor, electronics, medical and automotive industries. Prior to joining Catalyst Connection, Mr. Sewell held posi-tions as operations manager and director of quality and manufacturing engineering, and also provided consulting services through a private practice. Since joining Cata-lyst Connection in 2003, Mr. Sewell has assisted dozens of local manufacturers in reducing lead times, increasing capacity and eliminating waste from both production and administrative processes. He moved from his original position of lean manufac-turing consultant to managing director of productivity improvement services in 2004. Named to the position of vice president of consulting for growth enterprises in 2007, he now leads a team of consultants and business development professionals who provide specialized assistance to manufacturers with fewer than 150 employ-ees. Mr. Sewell holds a B.S. in industrial engineering from the Pennsylvania State University and an M.A. in applied statistics from the University of Pittsburgh.
