SCHOOL PROJECT

BY AR JAM ZEESHAN ALI

SCHOOL PROJECT

Design an ideal educational building the space should

contained and, simulteneously connected to the exterior

environment.

The building should incorporate architectural elements that

allow it to be adjusted in response to varying exterior

conditions such as natural light and wind, as well as varying

interior requirements.

SCHOOL PROJECT

• AIM: the school building should be understood as condensed, high

speed simulation of a more conventional design functions.

• the building scale and program is relatively large. Within the

programmatic theme of educational building, the architectural theme

of the building is the generation of an aesthetically pleasing ,highly

functional building envelope which is conceived as a negotiation

between inner(function) and outer(context and climate) pressures.

SCHOOL PROJECT

•The school building should be simple large

building program to investigate the possibilities of architectural forms that may simulteneously respond to external context and create useful interior spaces.

SCHOOL PROJECT

•LEARNING OBJECTIVES

• To gain a critical understanding of the design of school and teaching

sequence from all aspects

• To analyze multiple factors that must be considered careful considered

when selecting a site.

• To integrate a building into its wider context.

Page 6: Site precedent

SCHOOL PROJECT

• To coordinate the various requirements for human inhabitation of a

space.

• To produce a sculptural form that satisfies programmatic

requirements.

• To make involve decisions about material and structure.

• To clearly communicate a design proposal to an audience or jurist.

PROCESS AND METHODOLOGY

• The school will combine analysis of relevant architectural

prototypes(typical or perfect example) and interpretations (collect the

ideas to whole)of the given site context in order to develop a

methodology and produce a successful design outcome.

PROCESS AND METHODOLOGYNOTE

Students are expected to produce range of:

o sketches

o complete presentation drawings

• Diagrams

• Drawings

• Study models

• Flow diagrams/links

• Photographs of site and premises

• Contemporary or existing condition of proposed site

PROCESS AND METHODOLOGY

• and other materials as determined in consultation with the instructors.

Any medium may be used, photorealistic are not permitted students

are encouraged to use color pencils, free hand sketches, all initial ideas

must be put in note book along sketch book also.

FIVE MAIN STAGES

• PRECEDENT STUDIES

• SITE INTERPRETATION

• SCHEMETIC DESIGN

• DETAILED DESIGN

• PRESENTATION TECHNIQUES

Page 11: Site precedent

1-PRECEDENT (case in point)STUDIES

• Starting the project assigned by the instructor,

make a set of analytical diagrams, formative

ideas and parts. Alter and extend this format as

necessary to suit the particularities of the

given school project

1-PRECEDENT STUDIES

• The following themes are essential starting points:

• Structure

• Natural light

• Massing/finishes

• Plan to section

• Symmetry and balance

• Circulation to use

• Repetitive to unique
