What is the source of our Ego?

Page 4: Simran workshop lesson 4

Acting in egotism, peace is not obtained.

The way of the mind (munmat) is false; only

the Lord is True. All who love duality are

ruined.

When I was, then You were not; now that

You are, I am not. Now, You and I have

become one; seeing this, my mind is

content. ||1|| 339

To learn you must be willing to set aside

what you know and accept your Guru’s way.

Page 14: Simran workshop lesson 4

Following Gurmat (Guru's Way), one

becomes perfectly stable, and never wavers.

Following the Gurmat (Guru's Way) one

intuitively says Har.

Page 15: Simran workshop lesson 4

Those who follow Gurmat (the Guru's

Teachings), who eat this food and are

satisfied, find peace. 144

Page 16: Simran workshop lesson 4

The Saints are fulfilled and satisfied; they

know the Guru's Mantra and the

Teachings.1006

Page 17: Simran workshop lesson 4

No judgment of others

Page 18: Simran workshop lesson 4

Do not say that anyone is good or bad.

Renounce your arrogant pride, and grasp

the Feet of the Lord. ||3||

Says Nanak, remember the GurMantra; you

shall find peace at the True Court.

No arguments

Page 20: Simran workshop lesson 4

Receiving the True Teachings from the Guru,

arguments depart. But through excessive

cleverness, one is only plastered with dirt.

Page 21: Simran workshop lesson 4

Don’t look for praise or be affected by

blame

Page 22: Simran workshop lesson 4

Renounce both praise and blame; seek

instead the state of Nirvana. O servant

Nanak, this is such a difficult game; only a

few Gurmukhs understand it! ||2||1|| 219

Page 23: Simran workshop lesson 4

Says Nanak, how rare are those who chant

the Guru's Mantra in this world. ||56|| 1429

Page 24: Simran workshop lesson 4

Serve Him, O my soul (mind), who is the Giver and the Forgiver. All sinful mistakes are erased, by meditating in remembrance on the Lord of the Universe.

The Sadhu has shown me the Way to the Lord; by chanting the GurMantra.

The taste of Maya is totally bland and insipid; the Lord alone is pleasing to my mind. 321
