USO

• Usamos o SIMPLE PAST TENSE quando nos referimos a eventos em um determinado tempo no passado.

1- Ações completadas no passado.

a) President Kennedy died in 1963.

b) The Twin Towers collapsed in September 11, 2001.

FORM

O SIMPLE PAST TENSE é formado com o verbo flexionado em sua forma de passado.

O verbo auxiliar DID é usado para formar frases interrogativas e negativas.

• Os verbos no passado em inglês são REGULARES ou IRREGULARES.

• 1-Verbos terminados em E, adicionamos D: To dance – danced

• 2-Verbos terminados em consoante + y, tira o y e adicionamos IED: To cry – cried

• 3-Verbos terminados em vogal + y, adicionamos ed: To play – played

• 4-Verbos terminados em consoante + vogal + consoante, dobra a última consoante e adiciona ed: To stop- stopped
