PARKINSON’S DISEASE.

• Parkinson disease effects mainly the motor system producing motor symptoms.

• Other diseases may produce similar symptoms are called parkinsonism.

• There are signs that may indicate early stage of Parkinson disease.

Signs of Parkinson’s Disease.

• 1. TREMOR/SHAKING:

• intermitted shaking of hand, thumb, hand, chin, body, leg, lips or tongue could indicate Parkinson’s. usually at rest. One in 5 patients may not have tremor.

• 2. LOSS OF SMELL:

• Some research says that loss of smell is an early sign of motor lesion.

Appearing years before the symptoms.

• 3. TROUBLE SLEEPING:

• Such as sudden extreme movements (kicks) during sleep or falling out of the bed.

• 4. QUITE VOICE:

• May be associated with one of Parkinson’s disease “hypophonia”

• 5. MUSCLE TENSION:

• May cause pain and difficulty to move the limb freely.

• 6. MASKED FACE:

• Masking is a term we use to describe facial expressions that appear muted and flat even though the person may be content.
