Short course (1 credit): Photojournalism photography by Navroze Timings: Saturdays 3 hours from 1 September to 29 September 2012 Who can take the course: any student of IITH possessing his/her own digital camera (and enthusiasm to learn photography! this is a must) Maximum registration: 20 students Course contents The course will be for documentary/photojournalism photography. There will be a brief introduction to the kinds of photography in the world but will zero in on documentary photography. A brief illustrated history of photojournalism and introduction to some of the world's greatest photographers in this field. Introduction and basics of working a still camera. Choosing a subject for the entire class to work on. Each student must take an aspect of that subject, research it, and in the class say what they wish to do with it. The subject will be chosen 15 days before the course lectures start and each student is required to think and research the same which will be discussed in the first class. Subsequently students must go out and shoot, bring the images for appreciation/scrutiny and further guidance. This will be done for two more classes, after which selection for an exhibition will be made from the images brought in. Exhibition prints will be made from the selected images and finally an exhibition will be mounted in the campus. If the participants have the energy/enthusiasm left a very brief introduction to cinema can follow, starting from the extreme basics of film grammar. Some outstanding films will be screened, time permitting, in the evenings.

Course contents

Mr. T Srinagesh is the Chief Executive Officer of Pragnya Advisors Ltd. (PAL), Hyderabad, the Investment Advisor for Pragnya Funds. PAL advised investments for the Funds in 8 projects as of the date with over 13 million sft under implementation. Mr. Srinagesh has over 30 years of experience in financing, conceptualization and execution of projects in real estate, power and airports.

Prior to joining PAL, Srinagesh worked as the Chief Operating Officer of GMR Hyderabad International Airport Ltd. (GHIAL). In this role, he led the successful development of the 12 million capacity airport and support facilities like fuel farm, flight kitchens, ground handling, retail and food and beverage, a 5 star airport hotel with 308 keys, two SEZs, one for general purpose and the other for aircraft component manufacturing and repair business.

Srinagesh in his earlier career worked as Head, ABB Equity Ventures and ABB Structured Finance for South and South East Asia and Head, Joint Venture Cell at NTPC.

Srinagesh is a graduate in engineering from IIT Madras and a

PGDM (MBA) from IIM Bangalore.
