Purpose of Document This document describes resolved issues, workflow improvements and enhancements introduced in Teller Platform Release 18.1.0.

Installation Instructions Install the latest version of Teller Platform by using the Cardinal Fetcher and Update Manager tools.

Step 1 Complete the following steps to download the update from SHAZAM Core Services to the bank server.

• Launch the following application from the Windows Start menu: All Programs » Cardinal Software » Cardinal Update Fetcher » Update Fetcher Settings

• Use established Cardinal Username and password to log into Update Fetcher Settings. Note: Users should sign into Update Fetcher Settings anytime a Cardinal password is updated.

• Select Ok

• Launch the following application from the Windows Start menu: All Programs » Cardinal Software » Cardinal Update Fetcher » Cardinal Update Fetcher Cardinal Update Fetcher will download the latest update.

Step 2 Complete the following steps to verify the newest version is available.

• Launch the following application from the Windows Start menu: All Programs » Cardinal Software » Cardinal Update Manager

• Open the Published Updates tab.

• Select Search

• Scroll to the bottom of the list to find T18.01.00 Note: If this version is missing, Cardinal Update Fetcher may need to be ran before signing into Cardinal Fetcher Update Settings. Refer to the Manually Updating Teller on a Teller Station section for instructions to complete this task. Step 3 Complete the following steps to apply the new version to a test teller station. If the test group is successful, than apply the new version to all teller stations.

• From Cardinal Update Manager, select the Version Manager tab.

• Select Search

• Double-click the appropriate group to upgrade to the new version.

• Select the Active Version menu drop-down and select the new version.



Step 4 Complete the following steps on the computers selected for the new version.

• Launch the following application from the Windows Start menu: All Programs » Cardinal Software » Teller » Update Settings

• Log into Update Settings and select OK. Settings should show that version T18.01.00 is the active version to run on the PC.

Note: This step ensures the new version download to the computer overnight at the time set in the Cardinal Update Transfer task. When the user opens Teller the following day, Teller 18.1.0 will launch.

Manually Updating Teller on a Teller Station If Cardinal Update Manager does not list Teller 18.1 as an update to be applied to teller station computers, complete the following tasks to manually download the update on the station and load the new version.

Step 1 • Open the following location on the teller station computer:

C:\Cardinal\Teller\Transfer Task

• Run Transfer.Exe and allow the operation to complete.

• Launch Teller via its desktop icon.



Additional Considerations Performance may be impacted if logging in has been turned on for troubleshooting purposes. To confirm that this option has been returned to the default setting, select Teller.exe.config from the Cardinal/Teller/T18.01.00 folder.

From within this folder, change <level value=”Debug”/> to <level value=”Info”/> to turn off debug logging.



List of Enhancements, Ticket Related Fixes and Behavior Changes The following items describe the types of changes in the current release:

• A new XML file layout required from FinCen will replace the current ASCII file that is used to report CTR’s.

• CTR Form Updates • Improved usability and efficiency in the Teller interface • Issues that have identified and resolved

Enhancements

New Required CTR File Format Effective May 1, 2018 FinCEN is requiring that all batch filers submit the updated CTR data in an XML based file, rather than the current ASCII based fixed-length comma delimited file. This new file will also capture new or changed information outlined in the CTR Form Update.

CTR Form Update The CTR Form has had multiple substantial changes made to it. They are as follows:

1. Part I: Person Involved in Transaction(s) - This section of the form identifies the person involved in the transaction. The 2d field that was defined Courier Service (Private) is now renamed to Common Courier.

2. Part II: Amount and Type of Transaction – This section of the form captures information regarding the amount and type of transaction. An option has been added to Section 24 for Shared Branching.

Note: Refer to CTR Form Update Configurations to review steps necessary to support the new CTR Form updates discussed in this release.

a. Shared Branching indicates when the transaction was conducted on behalf of another financial institution that is a member of a co-operative network. This option is only applied to Credit Unions that are a member of a co-operative. If this option is selected, this information will be captured and passed back to the database upon submission.

b. The teller can select this option through menu drop-down in the Source field. If this option is selected, this information will be captured and passed back to the database upon submission.

3. Part III: Transaction Location a. Item 37 Type of Financial Institution was renumbered to Item 38.

This item will be populated from the value in Bank Master, under the CTR Tran. Location tab.

b. Item 29 had the option Unknown added to the Primary Federal Regulator field. These options are populated from what is entered in Bank Master, under the CTR Tran. Location tab. These options are variable based on the type of Financial Institution.

c. Item 32 had the option Unknown added to the EIN field. This will be displayed a

checkbox for the user to select. This option will be populated from what is entered in Bank Master, under the CTR Tran. Location tab. If this value is blank, the Unknown checkbox will be defaulted to be selected.



d. Item 37 has a new field titled Country. This field will be populated based on the value entered in Branch Information under Branch Master. If the country listed is a valid U.S. Territory, then this value will appear in both Item 35 and Item 37.

e. Item 41 has a new field titled Cash in Amount for Transaction Location. This field must be equal to Item 25 Total Cash in Amount if a single transaction is being performed.

f. Item 42 has a new field titled Cash out Amount for Transaction Location. This field must be equal to Item 27 Total Cash out Amount if a single transaction is being performed.



4. Part IV: Filing Institution Contact Information – This is a new section that has been added to collect data about the institution that has field the CTR.

a. Item 43 is titled Primary Federal Regulator. This field will be presented as a menu drop-down with the options populated from the Bank Master screen under the CTR Trans. Location tab, which is defined by the type of Financial Institution. This field is required for filing.

b. Item 44 is titled Legal Name of Filing Institution. This field is populated from the Name

field, under the General tab of Bank Master. This field is required for filing.

c. Item 45 is titled Alternate Name (Trade Name or DBA.) This field should have a value if the institution defined in Item 43 has a trade name or DBA. This field will not be visible through the Teller interface.



d. Item 46 is titled EIN. This field is populated from the value in Bank Master, under the CTR Tran. Location tab. This field is required for filing.

e. Item 47 through Item 51 are titled Address, City, State, Zip Code and Country. These fields are populated from the values in Bank Master, under the General tab. These fields are required for filing.

f. Item 52 is titled Type of Financial Institution. This will be a menu drop-down with

options populated from the values in Bank Master, under the CTR Tran. Location tab.



g. Item 53 is dependent on Item 52. If Casino/Card Club is populated in Item 52, this item will have a menu drop-down of the following options: State Licensed Casino, Tribal Authorized Casino, Card Club, Other or Not Populated from Teller.

h. Item 54 is titled Financial Institution ID Type and will be populated from the value in Bank Master, under the CTR Tran. Location tab.



i. Item 55 is titled Contact Office. This is the title of the Administrative Office that should be contacted to obtain additional information about the report. This field is populated from Bank Master, under the Detail tab.

j. Item 56 is titled Phone Number. This is the Financial Institution’s contact telephone number that should be called to obtain additional information about FinCEN CTR’s. This will be populated from Bank Master, under the Detail tab.

k. Item 57 is titled Date Filed. This field will be auto-populated according to the date when the form is signed. This field will not be visible through the Teller interface.



Usability and Workflow Enhancements The following section details enhancements for various user actions and workflows in the Teller interface.

Primary Account Holder as Transactor There is a new workflow available when using the primary account holder as the Transactor when the teller enters an account number.

Step 1: Leave Transactor Blank

Step 2: Select Transaction Type

Step 3: Enter Account Number or Search Customer Name

Step 4: Continue with Transaction

Note: The system will now use the primary account holder’s

information to populate the Transactor if the Transactor fields

are blank.

Note: Refer to Application Configuration to review steps necessary to support the enhancements discussed in this release.



Entering Multiple Checks at Once For banks not utilizing Teller Capture, an Add button has been added next to the Non Cash Debit field that will allow the user to enter multiple checks at once.

Upon submission of the entered checks, the total will be auto-calculated and populated into the Non Cash Debit field. Each item entered will be visible in the Transaction Summary.

Note: After proper Application Configuration where default Onus and Transit transaction items have been pre-defined, checks that have been entered with a valid account number will be considered Onus items. All other check types will be considered as Transit items.



Processing Directly from Child Screen When processing a single balanced transaction such as cashing a check, or depositing cash, the user can now complete the transaction directly from the child screen.

Note: The user is no longer required to select Add and then Process as previous versions required.

Note: This button will be disabled if there is a transaction existing in the Transaction Summary pane.



Simplify Buying and Selling of Cash From the Child pane, a new tab titled Cash Sell was added to simplify the sell/buy cash process.

Selling Cash The Sell Cash pane will allow the Teller to define the Amount they are selling and the Branch and Drawer it is being sold from.

To sell cash:

• Select the Cash Sell tab. • Select appropriate Branch and Drawer from menu drop-

downs. • Enter Amount to be sold. • Select the Sell button. • Process tickets and movement of cash between teller

drawers according to the Financial Institution’s policy and procedure.

Note: Sell or Buy transactions can only be

reversed by the originating teller. The transaction will only appear for reversal if

the cash has not been purchased by the receiving

teller. The journal will display either the cash sale

or the purchase, but not both.

Capture banks no longer require a ‘wash’ account.



Buying Cash The Buy Cash pane will display a list of all ‘sold’ transaction from other teller drawers that are now available to be bought.

To buy cash:

• Select the Cash Sell tab. • Select a previously sold transaction and select

Buy. • Process tickets and movement of cash between

teller drawers according to the Financial Institution’s policy and procedure.

For Financial Institutions that process vault transactions at end of day, or do not use the vault in Teller: Continue to use GL Debit and GL Credit transaction per the Financial Institution’s policy and procedure in lieu of this feature.

Note: The Buy and Sell buttons will be disabled if there are items listed in the Transaction Summary screen.

If there are transactions waiting to be purchased, the Balance Drawer button will be disabled until the cash is purchased.



Auto-Fill on Monetary Instrument Tab Teller will now auto populate the following fields:

• Remit From: This will populate from the Customer Name in the Transactor (parent) portion of the screen once a Transactor has been searched for and selected, after selecting a Transaction Type.

• Amount: This will populate from the value entered in the Non-Cash Debit field or the Cash In field. If both of these fields contain values, it will be the sum of the two fields.

• Amount (Credit tab): This will populate from the Amount field on the Monetary Instrument tab.

Note: If the Transactor is left blank, the Transactor Name will be automatically populated using the primary name of the first Onus account referenced.

SHAZAM Core Services suggests identifying a Transactor first when a Monetary Instrument is being purchased.



Parameters and Configurations To utilize the new usability and workflow enhancements released in Teller 18.1, the Financial Institution must establish the correct parameters and configurations.

CTR Form Update Configurations All items that reference being populated from the CTR Tran. Location, General or Details tabs can be located under Bank Master.

From File Setup, select Master Files and Bank Master.

From the CTR. Trans Location tab, complete the following fields:

• Type of Financial Institution • Primary Federal Regulator • Legal Name of Filing Institution • EIN • Type of Financial Institution • Financial Institution ID Type



From the General tab, complete the following fields:

• Address • City • State • Zip Code • Country



From the Details tab, complete the following fields:

• Contact Office o This is the title of the Administrative Office that will be contacted to obtain additional

information regarding the CTR. • Phone Number

o This is the contact number that should be used to obtain additional information regarding the CTR.



From File Setup, select Master Files and Branch Master.

From the Branch Information tab, complete the following fields:

• Country



Application Configuration For banks not utilizing Teller Capture, an Add button has been added next to the Non Cash Debit field that will allow the user to enter multiple checks at once. To utilize this feature, complete the following configurations.

From File Setup, select Application Configuration.

From the Application Settings tab, assign a Default Teller Transaction Type to the following:

1. Onus Check Type

2. Transit Check Type

3. Cash Buy

4. Cash Sell

5. Credit for MI Transaction

Note: There can only be one transaction type defaulted for each. For Capture banks, wash accounts are no longer necessary and can be removed from the setting.



To utilize the new buying and selling of cash feature, complete the following configurations.

From File Setup, select Drawer Setup.

Assign each Teller the appropriate GL Account Number.



Known Resolved Issues

Ticket # Resolved Issues

183376 Teller balance was not carrying over when End of Day was used while in the Balancing screen.

182911 Transactions with identified errors were still processing. This has been corrected to display an error message to the user.

182906 Users reported that if a teller entered a transaction, selected the Reset button prior to processing, and then re-enters the transaction correctly, both transactions were being sent to CSPI in error.

181947 Branch Accounting Fee Settings were corrected to retain changes upon being saved. 181569 Users reported errors when processing a Cashier’s Check with a fee.

181172 All Tran Codes were updated to be displayed in the Credit menu drop-down, regardless of account type.

180167 Code was added to display the cash count denomination to display in the journal details.

193270 When completing transactions on ‘Next Business Day’, transactions are entered into DDMEMO with the After Hours Flag set as N.

180115 The time and date stamps on printed receipts were corrected to display the accurate time and date of the transaction.
