Preface

Purpose of Document This document provides step by step instructions for installing and upgrading Compass XD Services. A prerequisite prior to installing Compass XD is installing the u01 environment. If the u01 environment has not yet been installed, contact SHAZAM Core Services support for assistance.

Immediate Action Items

Message Queue The Message Queue is an IBM® iSeries™ object which is used to contain messages that are issued on the iSeries from software applications. The Message Queue XDMSG is used with Compass XD.

Users need to verify that Message Queue, QSYS/XDMSG access is available. To check the availability of Message Queue, users need to run the following command in SHAZAM Core:

CRTMSGQ MSGQ(QSYS/XDMSG) AUT(*ALL)



System Requirements

Hardware System administrators at FIs must determine workload and free resources. SHAZAM does not have the data or tools to make this determination for an on-premise iSeries. Compass XD specifications are inclusive of the RTI platform.

Processor 1 half of 1 current generation Power Processor Memory 16 GB available

Hard Disk Current operational code is 1 GB. Disk utilization should never be allowed to exceed 80% utilization.

Software Operating System IBM i/OS 7.2 (7.3 has not been validated for use at this time)

Library

QSYSINC must exist on the In-House iSeries. To check for the library, use the following command in SHAZAM Core:

DSPLIB QSYSINC If the above library does not exist, users will need to install the Licensed Program Product (LPP) 57770SS1 option 13 on the iSeries. Refer to IBM Knowledge Center or engage the iSeries Support Vendor for installation assistance.

Examples below reference OS 7.2 – equivalent options are required for different OS releases.

Verify System Openness Includes Verify that System Openness Includes exists.

On the command line:

• GO LICPGM • Option 10 • F11 • F11 • Verify that 5770SS1 13 System Openness appears in the list.



Version 2.6 IWS Server Validation To verify that the required 2.6 server is running, enter the following command at the command line and press <Enter>:

wrkactjob sbs(qhttpsvr)

Page down to verify that CORESVR jobs are listed.

Note: If there are not any CORESVR jobs listed, contact SHAZAM Core Services at (800) 537-5427 and Select Option 8, to schedule an installation of the required server before proceeding.



Install or Upgrade Compass XD

Step 1 Browse to http://www.shazam.net in a web browser and log into Client Login.

Step 2 Select Secure Documents.

Note: Prior to Install or Upgrade of Compass XD 14.0.149, contact SHAZAM Core Services at 800-537-5427 and select Option 8, to initiate necessary steps facilitated by SHAZAM Core

Step 3 Select the Folder from the Files Tab.

Step 4 Select Cardinal Downloads

Step 5 Select CompassXD Installs



Step 6 Find and save a copy of CompassXD-14.0.149.zip to the following location in the iSeries System:

/u01/supportUpload

Step 7 Launch a terminal window to start a session with the iSeries machine. Log in with existing credentials. Step 8 Enter the following command at the command line and press <Enter>:

Call qp2term



Step 9 Enter the following command at the command line and press <Enter>:

cd /u01/supportUpload Enter the following command at the command line and press <Enter>:

jar -xvf CompassXD-14.0.149.zip

Enter the following command at the command line and press <Enter>: Note: This command is one, continuous command.

cd /u01/supportUpload/CompassXD-14.0.149

Enter the following command at the command line and press <Enter>: chmod 777 *

Step 10 Enter the following command at the command line and press <Enter>:

./install.sh prod Step 11 When the script is complete, a message will read:

Installation complete, please restart Compass XD. Step 12 Enter the following command at the command line and press <Enter>:

exit Caution: Do not press <F3> to exit because doing so terminates all previously started jobs, including Tomcat®. Step 13 Enter the following command at the command line and press <Enter>:

cancel Caution: Do not press <F3> to exit because doing so terminates all previously started jobs, including Tomcat. Step 14 Enter 90 to close the connection to the iSeries Machine. Step 15 Complete the following steps to Stop and Restart Compass XD.



Stop Compass XD Step 1 Launch the terminal window to start a session with the iSeries machine. Use assigned credentials to login. Step 2 Enter the following command at the command line and press <Enter>

wrkactjob

Note: This window displays all services that are active on the machine. Step 3 Move the cursor to a field in the Function column. Tip: The cursor can be moved through the mouse or arrow keys. Press <Shift+F4> to sort the Function column. Step 4 Press the <Page Down> key to advance through the list of services actively running until you locate any of the following values in the Function column.

• JVM-org.apache • JVM-AccountMai • JVM-BackOffice • JVM-CustomerMa • JVM-LoanAccoun • JVM-NoticeServ • JVM-ImageServi • JVM-OFACSearch

Step 5 Move the cursor to the Opt column and enter a 4. This option will instruct the machine to end the service. Press <Enter> to complete shutting down Compass XD services.



Step 6 Verify that Compass XD services were shut down correctly. Enter the following command at the command line and press <Enter>:

call qp2term Enter the following command at the command line and press <Enter>:

ps –ef | grep .prod If data does not populate after the command, then all services have shut down correctly. Example:



If data populates to the screen regarding Compass XD Services, repeat Steps 4-6 to ensure they are shut down correctly. Example:



Restart Compass XD Step 1 Enter the following command to browse to the Compass XD Start script:

cd /u01/prod/scripts

Step 2 Implement new properties for Compass XD: Using iNavigator, go to directory: /u01/prod/apps/apache-tomcat/properties Open compass.properties for editing and add the following lines to the bottom of the file. DEFAULT.notices=on DEFAULT.noticesPrintingMaintenance=on DEFAULT.noticeProp=on DEFAULT.reports=on DEFAULT.parameterMaintenance=on DEFAULT.depositBackOfficeAchEMMaintenance=on DEFAULT.platformUpload=on DEFAULT.investments=on DEFAULT.investmentBackOffice=on DEFAULT.taxReporting=on DEFAULT.shareholders=on DEFAULT.executiveReviewMaintenance=on DEFAULT.backofficeshareholder=on Step 3 Enter the following command to run the start script:

./start.sh prod The green screen console will display information about the start-up process.



When the process is complete, the following text will display: start complete Step 4 Enter the following command at the command line and press <Enter>:

Exit

Caution: Do not press <F3> to exit because doing so terminates all previously started jobs. Step 5 Enter the following command at the command line and press <Enter>:

cancel Caution: Do not press <F3> to exit because doing so terminates all previously started jobs. Step 6 Enter 90 to close the connection to the iSeries Machine. Step 7 Browse to the Compass XD Login page within a web browser:

https://IPAddress:8443/CompassXD/ Note: IPAddress is the IP address of the iSeries machine for the institution. Step 8 Ensure the Compass XD login page loads as expected.



Continue with the Table Synchronization instructions to apply the new configurations.



Table Synchronization Compass XD Administrators should perform Table Synchronization upon every Compass XD software upgrade or upon direction from SHAZAM Core Services Personnel.

Select Table Synchronization.

The Table Synchronization options will populate.

Note: If the initial Table Synchronization has not been previously been performed for the Financial Institution, the Compass XD Administrator should contact SHAZAM Core Support at 800-537-5427, Option 8.

After the initial process has been performed, Compass XD Administrators can initiate the Table Synchronization without assistance using the procedures listed below.

Note: Once the initial Table Synchronization has been performed, the menu item must be added to the Administrator’s role for future access.



Determined by bank-defined needs or direction from SHAZAM Core Services Personnel, the Compass XD Administrator can select to Update individually, or Update All.

Once the update has been performed, the Administrator must log out and log back in again to view any changes including new permissions or functionality.

Note: This list may vary based on the modules or functions affected by the proposed Table Synchronization.
