MANNA

• Did not last; spoiled after a certain time

• Provision from Heaven for man’s need

• Could not be stored; must rely on God

to provide

Jesus Christ

• Was fully man for a short time

• The fulfillment of God providence

• Sustains man• Sent from Heaven for man’s

deliverance

AARON’S BUDDED ROD

• Representation of the Levitical

Priesthood

• Shows God’s desire to reconcile man to

Himself

• Temporary solution

New Priesthood

• Man is now acceptable to God through Christ

• Order without beginning or end

• Not of flesh

• Permanent Position

LEVITICAL PRIESTS• Continually enter the outer tabernacle

• Enter the Holy of Holies only once a year

• Offers blood for himself first

• Offers blood for people next

• People were reminded of the necessity of

repeating the sacrifice

Perfect High Priest

• Didn’t need to offer for His own sins first• Fully man so he empathizes with man’s

weaknesses

• Not of fleshly order but ordained by God

BLOOD

OF BULLS & GOATS

• Not desired by God as payment for sin

• Impossible for it to take away sins

• Could not reconcile man to God

Perfect Sacrifice

• Sinless and perfectly moral

• Offered himself

• Payment God desired

• Once for all

OLD COVENANT

• Was only meant to be temporary

• Purpose was to point the way to Christ

• Made nothing perfect

• Made useless after Christ

New Covenant

• Provided forgiveness

• Price properly paid

• Permanent solution

• Reconciled man to God

• Written on hearts and minds not stone

Once we only had copies of what was to come. Bits and Pieces that together would show the way. Shadow of the Light that was coming to illuminate us.

Now we have Him, the perfect Priest and Sacrifice who ushered in the New Covenant between God and Man. He now sits at the Right hand of God as our Minister and Mediator forever acting as our High Priest before God.
