TECHNOLOGY... Don’t let it pass you by!As a dealer of the best Sewing and Embroidery machine brands out there, I am fortunate to be able to attend top-notch training all over the country. This year was one of the most exciting educational years I have had in a long time. I returned home so excited to share with you all of the new technology that has been incorporated into our machines. Today sewing is more than just a straight seam or a simple zig-zag. We have sewing systems equipped with laser beams, or your needle that becomes a chisel to cut out appliqués. There are new programs to paint on fabric or create your own iron on crystal designs. These are all in addition to best sewing and embroidery systems made. There are innovations in home quilting machines, going from free standing long arms, smaller units that enable you to sit while doing “long arm” quilting and programs to use in your sewing/embroidery machines. However, these innovations are only as good as the staff that trains you. Here, at the award winning Aurora Sewing Center, we have the best trained and informed staff within our industry. We are experts in all these new areas of technology and we can’t wait to teach you.

This is the best time to take advantage of what is new in our industry. This is the best time to take advantage of what is new in our industry. We have great machines at great prices and we are just waiting for you to join the revolution. Take advantage of this new technology and let it work for you. You are only limited by your own imagination.

Happy Sewing to All! Barb and the ASC Staff

The bobbin is a very important part

of your sewing success.

Always be sure to use only the bobbins provided by the manufacturer. Even if you have bobbins that look similar, you must be 100% sure it is the right bobbin. This is very important because there are certain tolerances that have to be met for the bobbin to fit correctly. Diameter being the most obvious, but the depth is often the one that gives the most trouble. A rule of thumb is that if a bobbin gets damaged, then you should discard it. A bend or crack in a bobbin can cause all types of troubles. Always wind a clean bobbin, and never use a “mushy” bobbin. A mushy bobbin is caused when the thread slips out of the bobbin tensioner. Unwind it and start again.

Tension on a bobbin case is preset at the factory. It is also done at tune up time and can always be checked by our technicians. We set the tensions to factory standards with a tension gage. So always include your bobbin case with your machine any time you are coming in for service. And as always, if you have questions or need help with your machine come on in and see us.
