We are one of the world's leading suppliers of capital equipment in the fields of Ophthalmology, Microsurgery, Microscopy Systems and Confocal Laser Scanning Microscopes. An exciting opportunity has opened in our Service Division for an experienced Service Engineer to join our team based in Auckland, New Zealand. Reporting directly to the Service Division Manager, this role is responsible for the regular maintenance, repair, installation and technical support of ZEISS equipment and associated third party products as well as creating new business opportunities with the delivery of a consistently high level of customer service. As a strong fault finder on capital equipment, you will need to demonstrate logical approaches to problem solving and be committed to exceed customer expectations. The key responsibilities for this position includes (but not limited to): Carry out installation of new equipment and assist other engineers or sales staff with installations and exhibitions as required. Be responsive in troubleshooting equipment and performing corrective maintenance in breakdown situations. Be prepared to travel to the location of the work as determined by workload and customer location at the time of service. Pre-delivery checking of instruments. Carry out routine maintenance and repairs in accordance with factory guidelines and locally determined schedules. Ensure good liaison with customers (internal & amp;amp;amp; external), fellow service engineers, sales colleagues and management. Ensure service escalation procedures are adhered to and that all customer requests, complaints and comments are communicated to relevant people for prompt action. Respond to requests from the service administrators in a timely manner and provide regular feedback on job status. Perform service visits within the prescribed time scale to the best economic advantage of the company. Ensure all administration tasks are carried out accurately and in a timely manner. Ensure efficient material and spare parts management. Perform all service repairs, installation and checking of instruments in an efficient, confident and professional manner. Carry out work with a minimum of supervision and at all times be mindful of the company's reputation as a quality company. To be successful in this role, formal qualifications in an electronic field and previous experience in servicing of precision equipment is required, with knowledge in the biomedical field highly regarded. While a strong awareness in PC supported instrument diagnostics would be an advantage, a high level of computer literacy is essential with the ability to work unsupervised and a high level of personal motivation.
