Grace Chapel’s Annual Meeting June 2 at 12:30pm (live in Lexington, simulcast to Wilmington). This important event is an opportunity to hear about our vision and ex-citing plans for the coming year, as well as reports on what we’ve accomplished over the last 12 months. We’ll present the budget and other important church matters, which will be voted on the following Sunday, June 9. Meeting details, including the list of nominees for church offices, can be found at www.grace.org/annualmeeting.

In his sermon on May 5, “True Church,” Pastor Bryan provided great insight into the pro-posed changes to our requirements for membership. The sermon is available online at www.grace.org/true. Printed copies of the document detailing the proposed changes to the bylaws are available at the Info Desk, and can be downloaded at www.grace.org/annualmeeting.

VBS is our children’s program for kids ages 6 through 12 that takes place the last week of June (last week of July in Wilmington) and runs from 9:00 am to noon. Your kids will love all the games, music, and activities, but the most im-portant part is that we’ll teach them about God--who He is, and how much He loves them. Visit www.grace.org/vbs to register your child.

What are you doing the last week in June? We’ll have hundreds of kids here at our Lexington campus for Vacation Bible School, and we need adults to join in the fun! There are many ways to volunteer. Contact Barry O’Brien if you’re able to help: [email protected], 781-862-8351x138.

SHINE! Special Needs Ministry at Grace Chapel exists to help people of all abilities worship Jesus Christ. Opportunities to connect include SHINE! KIDS, a Sunday School class at 9:15am, and SHINE! STARS, a LIFE Community for young adults with cognitive disabilities and their families on Sundays at 6:30pm. SHINE! will also be offering courses to educate and create awareness in our congregations, help people understand their own personal journeys, and further God’s work in and through the disabled community. For more details, come to one of our information sessions at 12:30pm on May 26 or 10:30am on June 2 in room 203, or contact Molly Vazquez at [email protected] or 781-308-3330.

The Global Leadership Summit, August 8-9, 2013. The Global Leadership Summit is one of the most effective leadership development events in the world. With speakers like Colin Powell, Mark Burnett, and Andy Stanley, it’s an event for anyone who wants to do more with what God has given them. Grace Chapel attendees can register for the significantly discounted rate of just $99, using promotional code 13Satellite. For more info, including how to volunteer or to register, visit www.grace.org/summit.

PEER Servants Walk for Economic Empowerment: June 1, 10:00am. Grace Chapel ministry partner PEER Servants works to fight poverty in the developing world through Christian microfinance and business training. They work with the materially poor, pro-viding training and support needed to empower them to meet their basic needs, and experience the joy and peace this brings. PEER Servants’ Walk for Economic Empower-ment is a 3-mile fundraising walkathon around Lake Quannapowitt in Wakefield. Be inspired, make a difference, and enjoy fun and fellowship! For more info on this event, visit www.w4ee.org or email [email protected].

Origins Today: Genesis Through Ancient Eyes, a one-day seminar with John Walton, Saturday June 1, 9:00am to 3:00pm. Have we been misunderstanding the purpose and meaning of the creation account in Genesis? Come hear fascinating insight from one of the foremost experts: Wheaton College professor John Walton, professor of Old Testament at Wheaton College and Graduate School. He focuses his research on the literature and cultures of the ancient Near East and the Old Testament, with a particular interest in Genesis. For more info, visit www.grace.org/gcscience.

Celebrate Recovery is for anyone dealing with hurts, habits, or hang-ups that are keeping them from discovering and living God’s best plan for their life. We meet every Monday night of the year, including holidays that fall on a Monday, in the Courtyard at our Lexington campus. The CR Monday night schedule includes dinner, large group sessions, breakout groups, and fellowship. For more info, call 781-862-8351x2246, or email [email protected].

Stephen Ministry Information Sessions. If you are a mature Christian with gifts of compassion, empathy, and mercy, consider becoming a Stephen Minister, and help to serve the needs of God’s people going through a difficult time in their lives. We’ll be holding Stephen Ministry information sessions after both morning services on Sundays, June 9 and June 16 in room G-2 of the Adult Learning Center at 2 Militia Drive, Lexington. For more information, visit www.grace.org/care or contact Judy Pierce at [email protected].

Welcome to Grace Reception in the upper lobby after the 11:00am service next Sunday. If this is your first time at Grace Chapel, or if you’ve started attending recently but haven’t had a chance to learn more about us or meet some of our pastoral staff, we’d like to invite you to our informal “Welcome to Grace” reception on May 26 after the second service in the lobby upstairs. Light refreshments will be served.
