Growing in Christ

Matthew 22:36-40

36 “Teacher, which is the greatest

commandment in the Law?”

37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your

God with all your heart and with all your

soul and with all your mind.’ 38 This is

the first and greatest commandment. 39

And the second is like it: ‘Love your

neighbor as yourself.’ 40 All the Law

and the Prophets hang on these two

commandments.”

I resolve to invest in four relationships:

1. My Relationship with God.

2. My Relationship with my Family.

3. My Relationship with my Church Family.

4. My Relationship with those outside my

family.

Spiritual Maturity

Matthew 20:28 (NIRV)

“Be like the Son of Man. He did not come

to be served. Instead, he came to serve

others. He came to give his life as the

price for setting many people free.”

1 Peter 2:2-3

2 Like newborn babies, crave pure

spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow

up in your salvation, 3 now that you

have tasted that the Lord is good.

Spiritual Maturity

1 Corinthians 3:1-2

Brothers and sisters, I could not address

you as people who live by the Spirit but

as people who are still worldly—mere

infants in Christ. 2 I gave you milk, not

solid food, for you were not yet ready

for it. Indeed, you are still not ready.

Hebrews 5:11-14

11 We have much to say about this, but it is hard

to make it clear to you because you no longer

try to understand. 12 In fact, though by this time

you ought to be teachers, you need someone to

teach you the elementary truths of God’s word

all over again. You need milk, not solid food! 13

Anyone who lives on milk, being still an infant,

is not acquainted with the teaching about

righteousness. 14 But solid food is for the

mature, who by constant use have trained

themselves to distinguish good from evil.
