Because of industrial pollution, the air is more and more polluted.Because of natural disasters, there are more and more climate migrants.

There are health problems due to the pollution of the air. There is more and more industrial pollution due to human activity.

As there are more and more toxic substances in the environment, we have health problems.Since we are destroying our environment, animals are losing their habitats.

There is a negative impact of human activity however there are solutions such as recycling, renewable energy etc...

Attention ! Because of et due to sont suivis de noms example : because of deforestation ou due to industrial pollution....

Page 8: SEQUENCE 4 - slstanglais1.euslstanglais1.eu/wa_files/trace_20_C3_A9crite_204b... · natural disasters Pollution of the air Industrial Pollution deforestation Negative impact smoke

Attention aux structures

BECAUSE OF est généralement suivi d'un nom ou d'un pronom personnel complèment

ex : I was late this morning because of the traffic jam. (j'étais en retard ce matin à cause des embouteillages)

I missed the train because of you ! (J'ai raté le train de ta faute / à cause de toi!)

Meme chose pour DUE TO

ex : The train was delayed due to bad weather (le train avait du retard en raison du mauvais temps)

On utilise AS et SINCE lorsqu'on veut mettre l'accent sur le résultat (effect) plus que sur la raison (cause). On les utilise plus à l'écrit. Ils ont un emploi plus formel que BECAUSE.On met une virgule avant « since », dans la principale.

Ex : Koalas are losing their homes, since eucalyptus forests are being destroyed. (Les koalas perdent leur habitat puisque les forets d'eucalyptus sont détruites )

On utilise souvent since et as en début de phrase. Ne pas oublier la virgule également.

Ex : Since there are more and more natural disasters in Pakistan, people are forced to leave their homes and farms. (Puisque / Comme il y a de plus en plus de catastrophes naturelles au Pakistan, les gens/ populations sont obligés de quitter leurs maisons et leurs fermes)

As global temperatures are rising, the Earth's climate is changing.
